Victor Von Doom 258
Yup.Fantastic rb, can atk as well as def & he seemingly doesn't let the occasion get to him. He's English also, which will help w/ the h/g rule(Potential Ivanovic replacement in 2 / 3 yrs?) BlueLyon 9,359
Yes. A quality speedy backup and english too. Luis, Clyne and Azpi with Iva more on CB would be great. But I dont see Mou letting go Iva from that RB spot for quite some time...
kellzfresh 7,229
To be honest, our only chance of getting very good English players in this era is to have an all English defense.
Tomo 21,751
I was literally about to start a thread for him myself. We could negotiate a decent(ish) price and they are desperate for Bertrand which could work in our favour to, also unless he is a duracell bunny like JT, Ivan will need slowly replacing sooner rather than later. Our homegrown core needs boosting and Clyne is as good as any around. Stats 7,170
If he was to join it won't be for at least a couple seasons as we have that spot covered. But can see United going for him. They could do with him in the team right now. But on Clyne, he has turned into a quality RB. Excellent going forward and does an astute job defensively as well. Also ahs an eye for goal as we have seen this season with those spectacular goals against Liverpool and Arsenal. Was shocked to see Chambers start over Clyne in the qualifiers last month. Was happy to see Clyne play both game against Slovenia and Scotland though. Right now though he is at the best place possible to be playing his football. OneMoSalah 8,919
If we sell a right back then it would make sense to get him but we won't sell Azpi or Ivanovic so it won't happen. United were after him under Ferguson and quite frankly I think he could go there in the summer which would be a shame because hes a good player, who I thought was immense against us last night for England, keeping Anya quiet after he originally got the better of him in the first 25 minutes. beyondinvisible 47
We have Azpi to replace Ivan, we need a new left back more like.I agree. And we're covered at LB right now with Filipe Luis. Clyne would mostly move to a team where he'll be first-choice.
LondonsFinest 692
With every passing game I think that the chance of seeing Azpi at RB decreases. SO, is it me that wants Clyne so badly. His defensive and attacking skills are great. He has the pace and stamina to burn and keeps up with his man quite often. Atleast from what I have seen. LondonsFinest 692
One of the transfers that makes logic. A good right-back, who is also English, filling the HG quota, would probably not cost THAT much, so I think it makes sense. But that is me, and I have a soft spot for him. Blue Colored Sky 1,807
If it's true then that means that Ivanovic loses his place right? He's 31 year old, converted from CB to full-back in mid-20's therefore he wasn't prepared to be natural athlete to play as a full-back. You'd think that's the time to look for replacement ?But I believe that it isn't necessary indication that they're looking for a new RB in the summer and if they miss Clyne they'll turn for someone else. I think Chelsea are opportunist and when they see occasions like this they can be interested.

Siwy_CFC 7
We have Azpi to replace Ivan, we need a new left back more like.I dont think Jose will move Cesar back to RB, on other hand i think that playing with Cesar on LB and buy Clyne to play on RB is much better option. BlueLyon 9,359
If Azpi will never play RB again, then we should go all in for Clyne.
Siwy_CFC 7
He is probably best RB in BPL this season and he has HG status as well so if we wont fight for his sigh it'll be big mistake.
