Remy has scored 9 goals in all competitions this season, 7 of them coming in the Premier League and a few important goals in there too (City, Stoke, Hull etc). A pretty good return considering he doesn't play very often.

We better not sell him in the summer!

Depends, if Spurs come in and offer 20m I am not sure we can refuse.

We already need to go out and get a striker. Why create a further problem by selling our second choice and having to buy 2 strikers instead?

Besides, we also have other areas that need to be improved first before we go and tinker with a position that is relatively safe.

if spurs come up with a 20mil offer, it would mean NOTHING.

as a second choice striker, remy is perfect. who will we replace him with? benteke? he will cost more than 20mil and does not give us remy's versatility like yesterday to play on the wings.

this is not a luiz/mata like situation where they were excess to our needs. remy is not. a MUST KEEP for the summer.

Doubt that Mourinho isn't happy with his contribution and if Remy wants to stay he'd be sold. Only thing Jose will be worried about is injuries, but I doubt he wouldn't have a 3rd striker lined up.
I'd be extremely sad if we let him go.

Remy is quite underrated IMO. If we started him in as many games as Costa Im sure he would get 20 goals this season. Costa is better and suits our play overall but Remy gives us something different when we need that extra flair upfront.

unfortunately that is the direction of the club currently - IMHO we didn't need to sell Schürrle, but it was too much money to be made & the deal was done

I think the difference was that Shurrle wanted to leave for more playing time. Really understandable since he is still young and should be getting more games to develop. The offer was great and since the player wanted to leave, we brought in a replacement.

Remy probably won't develop much more and I think he doesn't mind being behind in the pecking order in order to be a part of a team challenging for multiple trophies. The offer would have to be really huge and he must want to leave for us to sell him. No point selling him for marginally more since a backup of his quality is hard to find. Scored some really crucial winners for us when we needed it too.

Man I hope you are right about the club keeping Remy. IMHO he is quality & can assist if he can stay healthy.

No, I completely agree. There were plenty of times this season where Remy was clearly offering more than Costa and should have been started and I expect that to be the case as well next season.

While the case of perception is probably true for most fans, I think for Jose the main reason he kept picking Diego is the pressing that he offers that Remy cannot do as effectively. Also there's always the concern of wanting to play Costa when on poor form to help him regain his best form in which he is clearly our best option. That said, Remy has been by far the more consistent of the two.
