Can we please stop ffs

Why? It's pissing Barca and rival teams fans off and we all know (at least I hope so) that it's just a joke and won't actually happen so there is nothing to be disappointed about. Win-win situation, if you ask me :D

The Argentine Messi. We already tried the, German, Nigerian, Egyptian, and Belgian.

Lionel Messi is happy at Barcelona and will stay with the club until at least the end of his contract in 2018, says president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

But Bartomeu said: "Messi has a contract until 2018, he is happy with the club and wants to win more titles.

"There is nothing to panic about in that regard. Messi is the central figure. The team is built around him."

He added: "The whole footballing world knows that Barca don't want to sell Messi. For me he is the best player in the world."

Catalan radio has claimed that the London club has contacted Messi's father and agent Jorge.

But Bartomeu told a news conference: "These news stories are created to try to damage FC Barcelona. They are written with the intention of creating conflicts where conflict does not exist.

That should have enough to end the rumour.

Yeah, like Bartomeu would say "Yeah guys Messi doesn't like our club and wants to leave. He is going to Chelsea so Messi fans, stop buying our merchandize and buy some from Chelsea!"

Everything he said is convincing though, and true. Messi will be the last player they would want to sell, no one ever doubt about that, even in this kind of situation.

If someone has to be sacrificed, it must be anyone but Messi.

Even though Balague might not be the most credible person to listen to, what he said makes a lot of sense. I forgot that with the buy out clause, the buying club needs to give the money to the player to pay out his contract, so there will be tax in that transaction. It would cost any team hundreds of millions to get Messi and Barca wouldn't want to sell, so buy out is a must. That's alot of money for anyone to splash, maybe too much. Unless there are help from sponsors ;)

Guillem Ballbag says it's impossible, eh?

Ink is drying on the contract as we speak then.

He is also wrong too. If i'm not mistaken when a buyout is triggered it is the player who has to pay the tax, not the club, we saw this with Cesc and Costa.

Having said that 200m plus wages and the tax(player paid) is a shit ton of money that I don't think Turkish Airlines or Adidas will pony up for.

If after the elections Messi decides he still wants to leave then and only then will they look to move him. clearly the buyout will not be triggered for any deal involving Messi because the amount of money associated with it will just astronomical.

Messi asks to be moved, board decide they've had enough, Messi is made available at a more affordable number.

Really?? How would any player be okay with that? It's a lot of money.

I thought it was the player?
