🇧🇷 Filipe Luís

If we're talking about height, he's barely 5'3, so unless he has a huge growth spurt I don't think Jose will like him ever

He is around 5'7" nowadays. Still tiny but he might gain a bit inch or two since he only turned 17 2 days ago. BTW he is held high as a special talent by many pundits so he might make it eventually. Though of course not here.

Filipe Luis is the perfect fb for Jose he just does not know it yet.

No way. Filipe Luis barely gets a game and he's a 29-year-old that cost the club 16m.

If Ake was the back-up Azpi would never get a break; he would have to play through injury / loss of form.

Hi friend!

I can see a couple of matches of Nathan Ake with Reading in the position of Left-Back and I was very impressed by his performance.

I think we have to seize our academy and Nathan Ake is a player who has something special in itself.

Play in our starting eleven in the midfield is very difficult for a young player, but perhaps we can harness the talent of Aké for that position and place Azpilicueta as Right-Back.

Ake has a supernatural tactical sense, with a maturity befitting a veteran player. If we can sell Filipe Luis (I prefer to stay with him but ..) and sign Koke, I think Nathan Ake bet would be a smart choice.

Regards.

I don't believe in any Koke to Chelsea and Luis the other way b.s. Luis forced the move and Simeone won't want him back. Felipe has it made. Playing part time and uploading selfies and getting paid for it? Sign me up!

That is only if he does not have pride, which he obviously has to have if he worked hard enough to make himself one of the best(if not the best) in his position as showed last season.

I am sure it isn't lost on him that the two people he moved here with from the same club last season have been able to secure first XI spots, while he is left to sit on the bench.

In principle I wholly agree with you. However, in context everything changes. Using the same example you provided, for posterity sake, you have to examine the path in which they collectively gained their first team spots.

Fabregas and Costa had to fill vacant roles (or displace Mikel/Ramires and Drogba, who was never intended to play 40 games), while Luis had to displace a pristinely in-form Azpilicueta.

I find it difficult to blame him, for me we must look at the tangibles first and--all other things being equal--then we can whittle it down to a lack of pride on his part. In the very least I would commend him for his professionalism, but then again that's just a different side of the same coin.

Regardless of what he says, he must feel completely mugged off. This is one of the best LB in Europe around and although we have had 3 games in 1 week he has not started a game. Azpi has been fantastic but there is no harm in giving a very good LB the odd start and rotating. It just seems what was the point in paying this much for a LB that was never going to play. It is not as if he has been poor as well. He has been very solid for us when he has played.

If we sell Luis in the summer, then who can we get to replace him?

I think we need to be careful about selling players just because we feel sorry for them and all that (people are also talking about selling Remy for instance). The main objective now is to improve the quality in our squad and bolster our options, not selling players and overhauling like half of the team. We should be sorting out the key areas that need improvement first before even thinking of tackling the area that we have no problem with right now.

Silly, silly Jason. You realise we're not actually in charge of the transfers. Stupid.

If the replacement is going to play the same minutes as Luis this season, why not try Ake?

He would be perfect. At Reading he played some games as a LB and he was great. He is also homegrown and and pretty much a defensive allrounder.
