Honestly though. I blame Jose and the fans mostly. Jose for encouraging him and the fans for cheering him on at the bridge. Look at the ovation he received when he was subbed and the cheers he got after the incident with koscienly and gabriel. Clearly they endorse his thuggish behaviour. How is he suppose to change when he realizes he's more popular with the fans more than ever inspire of his antics.

I agree with those saying winding up is part of the game. But this is too much. He's drawing so much attention to himself, making a spectacle. I didn't watch the game to see him. I want a game of football. It's become a weekly thing as well. It's different with other strikers that will get into fights a few times in a 50-60 game season. Drogba was like that and that got very, very tiring as well. That slap in Moscow was in my mind for so long. I remember when he came out and said his son was embarrased by his behaviour so he tried to control himself as much as he could. And he improved so much, becoming very likeable.

But I need much better football, 35 goals and proper fitness from Diego if he's going to behave like this every week. Otherwise I'll just dislike him more and more.

Or maybe someone can get Diego a very fertile broad quick. Like right now.

Honestly, I've never disliked a Chelsea player more.

I'm not saying this for dramatic effect and honestly don't care what anyone says but Diego Costa does not belong in football.

And then you have Jose trying to justify his actions....

Aside from the antics he actually had a very poor match. He made some good runs as he always does and even won some excellent second balls at 11vs11 but on the ball he was atrocious. And I mean below championship level. Why in the world he thinks he is a good dribbler I will never understand. His slow decision making in and around the box killed most of our attacks.

That's a good point, also you can clearly see that DC goes into ugly side in EVERY big game and I mean EVERY, he didn't let one such game pass by without incidents. It looks like when he is powerless to cut it against opponents that match him physically and technically (the last part is quite easy) he reverts to dirty stuff aka his natural habitat.

It's good and funny when you see it once every few weeks at Atletico and Fernando Torres is your striker with zero commitment. But when you see stuff like that every 3 days you get tired pretty quickly. And oh gosh are we really gonna pretend that we're building a side around him for the best part of the next decade ?!

Look, leaving behaviour theme aside, I think Diego Costa is good/great short term solution but again it's another short term. Just like with Fabregas. We needed reliable goalscorer/creative force and had ones who were relative cheap and available, the problem is the units we've got are having big weaknesses, yes they're still good but not good enough for years to come.

He will change once he finds out that he has been banned for 5 matches on Monday. The only reason he has been getting away with it so much is because he hasn't been properly punished since 2012(last time he got a red card). I thought the ban against Liverpool past season taught him a lesson but apparently not, so now instead of blatantly stamping other players he does 'less servere' acts such as scratching, grabbing other players in the face behind the ref back, pushing other players down with his chest instead of his head.

No doubt fans and Jose will come out and claim as usual that he has been unfairly treated though once the ban is handed out, he probably believes it himself and therefore will keep on carrying doing it regardless of the ban. Just wait until one day he does it in a high profile CL semi final(which is bound to happen considering he nearly did it against PSG earlier this year) and get sent off with us losing as a result. Let's see if all the people defending him now will be there to defend him then as well.

I love Costa's antics, he thrives on being the villain, and it works for him, so why change? barely any players in world football over the last 3 seasons have done as well as Costa has, so again why should he change? its not like he gets sent off every other week, he is clever and enjoys being a troll, like some on here do. People act like they have never seen this before, plenty of players past and present behave similar to Costa, if you dont like it, you are just going to have to deal with it, because Costa isn't going to change, and I dont see any reason why he should.
