Cesc Fàbregas

He had a good game. Played 3 ridiculous balls & actually shot outside the box which produced an excellent save from the Slovakia GK. Thought he was better than Iniesta personally but yeah Silva was the best player although he was incredibly wasteful all game.

Everyone knows he isn't a great defender, he covers an incredibly high amount of ground but he's just too slow, weak & positionally inept to affect the game defensively. He just needs more protection. Hopefully the combo of Oscar, Azpi & Pedro on that right side as well as Matic realising he can actually play football can provide him the support he needs. Bigger problem for me is bar one or two moments a game the creativity has been lacking.

It was definitely the Silva show featuring Iniesta. He is a good cog in a well oiled machine though, and that is what we should emulate.

The Hazard show featuring _____ with Fabregas as a good cog in a machine.

That's the issue though: Fabregas is supposed to be our play-maker and we are anything but a well-oiled machine.

I do think almost all of you will agree that Cesc is a pure 4-3-3 player?

Maybe we can have a quick patch with Ramires against Everton if Oscar isn't ready.

In the cup final against Spurs we played 4-3-3 with Cesc-Zouma-Ramires and we did very well.

Almost zero chances for Spurs and Cesc got the protection he needed and could still create.

Both Ramires and Cesc are better 4-3-3 players than 4-2-3-1 players.

Don't really understand why we switched back to 4-2-3-1 in big games after that convincing win.

dunno either. it is no even a personel change. just have ramires in midfield instead of the wing where he is useless. end of story. fabregas could also cease all the running and concentrate on his passing more.

Both he, Hazard and Willian do the same thing. They dribble forward a little look around then pass sideways. The club needs someone who is willing to make those killer passes. It's frustrating.

That's what Cesc's game is usually about. He made so many killer passes last season, hence his 18 assists. He's just not in form at all this time around.

I hope his slow start means he wont do what he did last year. He had 15 assists until January, made so many key passes and chances per game but then after that he got 3 assists, made less key passes and less chances.. to be fair some of the finishing was horrible but even then still he dropped a bit. Slow start hopefully means he can prolong his form for a bit longer.

I never liked this either Cesc or 0 playmaking and creativity in midfield situation in the squad and constantly mentioned/complained about the lack of a proper replacement with similar qualities on the bench. He doesn't have to be as good as (an in form) Cesc but at least of offer a similar skillset.

It's easy to forget since it's been so long btw, but Cesc was truly playing magical football at first.

He will do alright. It was Ivan that had to be dropped.

We should be alright with Mikel in the middle.

But still I'm getting annoyed at Mourinho at how he tries to solve the "problem" at times.

Rahman wasn't even in the subs. He must be injured otherwise Jose would put him on the bench at least. Last time Baba was on the bench.

Hoping Cesc can case some havoc, it will lift the whole team.

Fàbregas today: 0 tackles won 0 aerial duels won 0 interceptions 0 assists 0 shots 0 crosses

he set barca back 3 years. before him barca won 2 CLs in 3 years. as soon as he went out, barca won the CL. so that 3 in 4.

he is doing pretty much the same here. mr. no balls at his best.
