LDN Blue 7,903
Agreed, it's as if he thought he had something to prove by being a former Arsenal player whereas in reality if he'd have played to his normal tune we might have been able to profit from his usually-sexually-good set-piece deliveries. He was more wound up today than I've seen him be for us. I think you've hit the nail on the head with that point because he was visibly sacrificing his tactical awareness and positioning to try and score and create at any cost. I mean it was great to see, he was really passionate about trying to rescue the game.. You could see him constantly appealing decisions (which could've got him s/o, thankfully Dowd used Terry to calm him down) BlueLion.
RoyalBlues 4,050
I didn't see the match, and in no mood reading newspaper online. Did Fabregas got any assist today? At least some good notes..

He didn't have a great game but it showed his character. Manuf

Namika 922
Hopefully he'll play 10 from now on. We create more with him there. Oscar/Willian right winger.
The Skipper 20,609
Hopefully he'll play 10 from now on. We create more with him there. Oscar/Willian right winger. The conundrum is though that we need him deep to organise our tempo. He touches the ball a lot more. It is more to do with the fact that Oscar and Willian don't produce enough going forward hence why we need him further forward, which is a massive shame. xPetrCechx 13,571
Cesc as No 10, and a new Rw, because willian is too weak, and oscar not got in this position.
Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
I think everyone is forgetting that, Cesc like playing in CM. He's said it time and time again that CM is his favorite position. So idk how a signing like Pogba would make him feel? Of course he'd still play and still get a shit load of assists, but thats not where he "wants" to play. I doubt JM would shake that up. Popular Post! The Skipper 20,609 Posted January 3, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted January 3, 2015 Just to reiterate... For me as well, people are forgetting that he's been quality at CM and that that's his preferred position. It really isn't his fault that Oscar and Willian aren't producing enough in the final third. If we sign someone like Pogba, he would still be a cm in a 4-3-3 SouthKorea and Tomo
SouthKorea 38
Cesc replaced two players essentially.Mata and Lampard. I just read the lampard thread and Jose did the right thing getting Cesc....
SouthKorea 38
As I said before, cesc or matic should take the armband when Jt retiresFirst choice is Cesc though.Fabregas or Matic won't become captain as long as Ivanovic has a starting role in the team.and Cech or Cahill still aroundMourinho selects the starter who has been at the club the longest to be captain so it won't be either of those two anytime soon.Really? He has only played a few games for us in preseason and suddenly he should be captain. What a load of toss. As good he is I don't think he should be anywhere near the armband.Cesc is going to be the signing of the season in the epl....On a side note, Arsenal probably wouldn't need cesc as much as Chelsea would. If I was manager/tech director and had limited funds, I would of done the same and use it on sanchez instead of cesc. However, I'm glad United didnt get cesc... BleedsBlue 1,549
He's been tremendous for us but come to think of it, we always needed a player like him. Its a pity we could not sign Modric because he really would have improved our team back then. The Chels and iseah100
