Beepu 1,714
I was on another forum today (non football related), in a football thread and was talking about how WE enjoy being the underdogs. And this one kid, said this to me:"You're in the team? Woah, which one are you?! But for real, don't get upset that people think Chelsea are going to lose. Chin up m8" I know alot of us here uses we and us when we talk about the team, but is it not common in general? Then again the boy was a tool bag, kept mentioning to me to not be mad when people write chelsea off, while I've said I welcome it 2 times previously. It could've been a keyboard warrior looking for an internet fight, but is his point valid?
yuvala 2,167
I say "we" when talking about Chels.. in Hebrew and in English.
Spike 12,049
I only say 'we' or 'us' when I get really lazy otherwise I will always refer to Chelsea as Chelsea. I generally dislike referring to myself as the same entity as a sports team. 'We/us' makes little sense to outside of a fan context (I identify with the supporters of the club not the club itself). 'We were all upset when Sunderland won'. This is fine by me, as I am one of many supporters that feels this way. However: 'We should buy Arturo Vidal'. I very much dislike sentences like this as I have little to nothing to do with transfers or any other activity concerning the club. I much prefer reading 'Jose should buy Arturo Vidal'. It could've been a keyboard warrior looking for an internet fight, but is his point valid? i always "we" in english or in hindi when talking about chelsea. it might sound weird to others but the amount of time i spend, talking about chelsea, reading about chelsea, watching chelsea etc etc,,, we is the easier thing to say.still remember when i started my college and used "we" for chelsea when talking with my then-not-so-close-friends, they called me out on it.its not just other people. a while back, even "bushman" called me out on using "we".so it depends from person to person, i guess
Strike 7,528
i think spike brought this up before once.i don't mind it anyway. i use "we" and "us" most of the times
Jype 6,398
Here I use the term 'we' and also when talking to other Chelsea fans elsewhere but I don't know, just feels wrong to say that when discussing football with fans of other clubs because they're clearly not a part of this 'us'.Kind of like Spike said, I consider the term 'we' to refer more to us as a group of fans rather than a part of the club itself. Jambo 231
Using 'we' or 'us' identifies your allegiance to Chelsea as opposed to being neutral or against.
boshman 1,073
Using 'we' or 'us' identifies your allegiance to Chelsea as opposed to being neutral or against.Couldn't agree more! Being a Chelsea fan is like being part of a whole other family. Win, lose or draw 'we' are all in it together.

bababoom 4,478
To be honest I don't really think about it. But I do use 'we' and 'us', I see nothing cringey about it at all, we do support the club. In R/L nearly everyone I know who's into football says 'we', it's normal for me.
Yeboii 1,844
I do it out of habit and laziness lol.I don't find anything wrong with it at all, he was just trying to piss you off by saying that.I think Jambo put it best a couple of posts on top of mine in this topic. iseah100 5,612
I say "us" or "we" when talking to other Chelsea fans or on here. I usually don't say that to other people. They always say stupid shit like "oh what position do you play?" Or "how much do you make?" So I generally just say "Chelsea".

I love chelsea, and if winning the CL or PL means that idiots like him who just trolls gets his bollocks kicked once a day, I would gladly take it. I always thought that the supporters was the 12th man and we are a part of this team and the club. But I'd rather not be called out like that, just because I don't have enough patience to deal with idiots.

Jambo 231
It's a club. Chelsea Football club. It's our club. Abramovich might have the legal documents but if it wasn't for the supporters there would be no club. Chelsea is our club as much as a golf club or similar is to it's members. Only we do it in mass. There is no better feeling than walking down Fulham Rd on a Saturday (or Sunday... And even sometimes Monday these days ) and sharing the bond that Chelsea brings.
