Sergio Ramos

The only thing I would say that this would remotely be realistic, is that Real have promised Ramos a contract extension for a few years now. Ramos, believe it or not is considered one of the low earners at Madrid. Since the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema, Kaka et al who are superstars at the Bernabeu, and are earning the most.

But this €10 million a season on a 5-year-deal is just ridiculous. If you're going to earn that amount every year you'll be expecting to start virtually every Premier League game. And we'll be saying goodbye to Bos for sure, and possibly Brano as well, because Alex and Terry are pretty much first choice when it comes to our centreback pairing.

Just another player trying get a pay rise if you ask me....

Exactly! Paying Ramos' wages every week will only increase the wage bill again, something we've been trying to reduce with the departures of Ballack, Deco, Carvalho and Cole.

Mind you, Ballack's earnings is pretty much on the borderline of what Ramos would be earning. How much did Ballack earn when he was with us?

thank fcuk his agent/whoever was only using us to get a new contract--------he showed his true colours against Barca tonight--- he was pure shite....(tho rest of the team was the same)

Jose has his work cut out there.....defence useless, one trick (nowhere near best in the world) and Ave maria are passengers which meant the midfield and defence were overrun by barca's movement/passes and individual class (esp Messi)

Ramos attracting interest

Tentative approaches have been made for Sergio Ramos, with reports suggesting he is willing to leave Real Madrid.

Speculation in Spain claims the versatile defender is furious with his current employers after they backtracked on contract promises.

Ramos believes he was entitled to a bumper pay rise this summer, but has seen fresh terms fail to materialise.

He is now prepared to consider offers from elsewhere, with numerous clubs willing to dig deep in an effort to secure his signature.

Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with big-money moves, with both clubs expected to splash the cash during the transfer window.

Ramos' brother and agent Rene Ramos has revealed that interested clubs have already been in touch with Real and has refused to rule out an imminent exit from Santiago Bernabeu.

"Sergio merits better treatment at Real because of the work he has done and his quality," he said in The People.

"It is normal that his talent has been recognised by foreign clubs.

"We have received calls and inquiries but it is in the hands of Real."

Hmmm.. he is only 25.. and we do need a right back.. :whistling:

Beat me to it... I like Ramos, he is a bit overated but he is still a great player. I think he would fit in just fine at Chelsea, well except for the astronomical wages he would demand.

But signing him would create a conumdrum with the CBs. What to do with four incredible CBs?
