BlueLyon 9,359
Even if he gets starting spot, he would need damn good season, amazing one tbh given the fact he would play for sampdoria in average league.Varane, Koscielny will probably be first choice duo with Sakho rotating. Mangala is just poor and there is Laporte who is doing great job at Atletic, but still isnt first choice in france. Thats why I think even if Zouma performs well at sampdoria, its still only sampdoria. If we get another CB, loan is not that weird choice, but loan to sampdoria makes absolutely no sense. EdenHazard 163
As much as we try to hide behind it, John Terry isn't getting any younger. We have an ideal replacement for him in Kurt Zouma, massive expectations like but from what I've seen of him I believe he can be a starter for us for many years to come. He played 28 games this season, I don't believe there's a reason for us to loan him out. Especially as we only have Terry/Cahill as cover. Ok Ivanovic can play centre-back, but I doubt Jose would go for him there. Think if we do loan him out, we'll bring someone in... Would like to think so anyway, as it would be suicidal not to. mikeholiday 209
Just as dumb as buying falcao outright. Probably dumber. King11Didier
Viper22 2,418
The Sampdoria president best be talking bollocks.Because the ONLY way loaning Zouma out is a good idea is if we're buying Varane to play alongside JT for this season, before replacing JT with Zouma next season. And that is pretty unlikely. But even then, I would hope Zouma would go to a better class team ffs. Somewhere like Valencia, Southampton or Gladbach would be much better, they all have European football next season, great training facilities and great coaches after all. Reddish-Blue 2,506
Maybe he wants game time to get a starting spot in the Euro's?Unless France has an injury crisis, Zouma won't make the starting lineup. Kid has top-tier talent (even the current France coach has said he's a future leader) but he's not there yetAlthough if he stays and continues to grow he can cement a place for Russia 2018. Hm.Totally agree...if some of the French youngsters develop as expected, that 2018 team will be stacked!

Styles 9,790
Yes, it is doesn't make sense from our perspective, but I could see this could happening, if the player himself want the move for regular playing time. So, it is all depend on what Zouma want. Why would Zouma want to leave after a very successful first year where he got plenty of minutes? This is a total non-story as far as I'm concerned. In here with Cahill and Terry still around, no matter how shit Cahill will be, Zouma won't get anywhere near 30. And quater of that number might only come in as a sub. CurlyHairLikeLuiz 1,625
Actually, I'd be okay with a loan. PROVIDING, HOWEVER:It's a top flight top 7 side where it is likely his games played ratio will be very high. Lyon, for example, or even Atletico, if they choose to offload Miranda.Otherwise it's a step down from what he'll get here - eg 20 or so games plus a few sub appearances. The season after Terry could well retire. RoyalBlues

DOubt it.Atletico cbs are superior and Giminez did more than fine when miranda was out. Kind of how varane did for real when pepe got injured... If zouma wans to go on loan, he should aim for southampton when fonte is sold or everton with the regression of jagielka

Palace wouldn't be bad for him either, he would displace one of their CBs easily imo - plus with Jedinak being sold he might be called upon in midfield too and I think that is good for his development as it improves his all round game.Just because he doesn't play does not mean he will rot away though. If he keeps fit and keeps his training ethic then he still havve an arrangement like with this season.

I would put him ahead of mikel if he's still here and have ramires play utility role for all the am positions and cesc cm spot. Don't think RLC will be a signiificant player next season. I don't want him to leave too, and I reckon he won't because as you said, he can cover so many positions and has the ethic that Jose loves to see in his players.
