Mohamed Salah

easy guys... freshly arrived young players typically go through some physical preparation to increase this or that physical aspect (usually muscle mass), which in turn hinders their progress a bit short term.

Now, I am not saying this is the case here as I don't have the info, but it is typical. The club won't say it though as this would be fodder for our opponents.

He looks about 30, worse than Costa.. no way he's 22.

It's just a bleak situation when we spend money on mediocre young players, when we can give a raw youth from the academy a chance.

Problem is, that this guy carries a hell of a burden that he needs to set aside, he's really so weak deep within, can't deal with pressure properly, a whole nation made a hero out of Salah and are putting extremely irrational high hopes on him, it's just a completely stupid situation of cultural and social shock, having said that.... I think it's really better for him to set foot in any club somewhere else other than the premier league, because it's all about survival and supermen !

Paul Canoville: Salah ‘has the ability to develop’

Former Chelsea star Paul Canoville believes out-of-favour wide-man Mohamed Salah can still make the grade at Stamford Bridge but must improve his end product.

Canoville, told West London Sport: “He’s quick and he’s got tricks, but like me when I played, the final ball isn’t always right and he needs to work on that.

“Chelsea are playing some serious one-touch football and I am not sure he’s used to it. But he has the ability to develop and he has promise and talent. You could see that when he was at Basel.”

“It’s real tough when you are not a regular and you are playing with all the pressure, knowing you have to give a performance – whether a whole game, 25 minutes or 15 minutes,” said Canoville, who now runs his own business,

“You have to give the manager something that makes him sit up and take notice and really want you. But he needs to instantly shine when he plays – that’s the problem.

“He needs game time and sharpness but at Chelsea you don’t get that unless you are doing it on the pitch from the off. He needs to do it right away, so it’s Catch 22.”
