I have a feeling Lampard gets dropped for this game. And please either Oscar or Mata but not both at the same time.

I'm hoping all the players' pride is wounded enough to make them want to show everyone what they really can.

Schalke is prone to atodestructing in matches of any importance, especially in Europe, so there is hope we won't even need to do much. And even the draw won't be much of a drama. But we need a win - mostly to stop all these talks about November being cursed before it affects the players' confidence.

Willian has to play, and if Mourinho is fair and really believes in the meritocracy he preaches, Lampard should not even make the squad, KDB over him in midfield any day.

Hasn't done so and won't change it all of a sudden. Will see most of the same faces again with those sacrificial pawns, being sacrificed again..

Just realized I'm not going to be able to watch the game. Usually that has meant a comfortable win and the last time that happened even Mikel scored a league goal so I'd say we're safe. :P

I hope so. I myself think I am often a jink of some sort, often when i go to the toliet, the team scores and i miss it :(

No.

Well I personally would like to see someone different start at CAM.

Mata looks weird compared to last season, and I don't know what Oscar is doing in attack last 3 games.

Willian's acceleration and vision could give us another dimension, but won't happen obviously.

What is it you don't know?

Against City and Schalke he linked together the midfield and attack superbly, defended stoutly and completed a high percentage of his passes whilst dictating the tempo.

Against Newcastle he was shoved on the right-wing.

Out of interest, what did you make of Lampard's performance in the match away to Schalke?

Need I remind you the way they just walked all over our midfield in the first half? There was acres of space in front of our back 4 and we were lucky not to concede.

I could give you a link for the full match if your memory needs freshening up.

I'll start with the last line, being on the wings doesn't mean he should contribute nothing for large spells. He played there almost all of last season, got used to it and scored regularly towards the end of the season.

The other 2 games, he defended well, but did nothing in attack, that you think he "linked superbly" is ridiculous considering how we only did well on like 2 counter situations in Germany. And against City, our best moments came from Torres forcing things.
