Samuel Eto'o

I personally am a huge fan of this man as a footballer from his past but just a quick question to some of the standard fickle fans of Blue...

Why is it ok for Eto'o to speak pure shit about our club but it wasn't for Rafa Benitez??.... sooo strange what our fans decide to like and dislike at times.

Or is it that we actually learned from our lesson with Rafa and have decided to give Samuel a chance before we place his head on the chopping board.!

I hated him at Barcelona just like i hated Rafa at Liverpool. But (im only speaking for myself) when i found out Rafa was Chelsea manager i put that all for one side, focused on the positives he had as a manager and got on with supporting him (while he was here) and the team. For me it's the same with Eto'o, it will be more respect for the job he does (like with Rafa) than love.

To put it simpler Eto'o's my striking Rafa while Drogba's my Mourinho.

I wasn't that bothered about it and like Tomo said just got on with supporting the team last season.

I think the three biggest differences for many however are:

1. Liverpool - We hate them so much, particularly when he was still held in high esteem by the bin dippers.

2. His comments were much more personal in their nature, criticising us fans, whereas Eto'o's comment is much more general.

3. Benitez replaced Di Matteo, a club legend who a few months prior had won us the Champions League.

Benitez comments about plastic flags also had a grain of truth about it. Eto'o was angry, whereas Benitez was fairly incisive.

amazing link up, good vision, his first touch is one of the best (in strikers) I've seen and his finish is still quite good - based on what I've watched from Russian League last season. I don't think he'll be a 'matador' for us, but we have so many guys with good finishing that will benefit from his linkup and he himself will also have chances to finish and hopefully score.

As I said - in agreement to Muzchap - strikers don't have the easiest time to score in our defenses, so while he won't be the guy with a lot of pace we have that on Hazard, Willian, Kevin, André and they can run and do things similar to our first goal against Bayern. It's somewhat a relief to have someone that is still good. Maybe even Torres will benefit a bit from it. One can hope

Last comment: that sort of talent and class one is born with, can't develop with years - only improve, but it has to be there in the first place and it never goes away. thankfully

THIS!!!! I love this line.. I know former international players that coach the kids around my area who are well into the 50s and can play the game just as good as anyone today they may not have the pace or stamina anymore but the touch never leaves
