Chelsea are leading the race to sign Samuel Eto'o, player's agent has already been contacted by the club. (Gazzeta)

36 goals in 71 app in Anzhi, 32 years old, but a proven goal scorer. I think he's the best option if Rooney wont come.

Think he will be available for 20m max. Only problem is his wages.

He'd be a decent choice IF A) he'd renegotiate his contract and accept massively lower wages B) Our commitment was for no more than a year or two C) he wasn't expensive. The record of strikers in their 30's is not great and Eto'o hasn't played in a top competition for 3 years. Still, not sure why we'd need him really. I see why Chelsea are chasing a real #1 striker-Rooney would be easily our #1 choice at the #9, but is Eto'o at this point better than what we have? I'm not convinced.

I'm alright if he's our Plan B. Better than our current crop of strikers, and like Didier he's still playing well into his 30s.

And no point even talking about his wages, he wont get anywhere near 300k at any other club, desperate business by Anzhi and he should have saved up shitloads by now lol.
