It also makes sense that the club ties him down because they could easily sell him next summer once the ban is lifted and gain a fee as opposed to losing him for free. We should have sold him to Barca and be done with it. Easy 50-60M lost there. He wont be sold for much money now, unless its china etc. I rather Pedro, he still has it to turn up here and there, Willy what does he do now days? Besides taking abysmal corners and fucks our counter time and time again. In the old days the Club would have sold him and Pedro long ago......I have become disillusioned with the ways this Club does things.

Lets not rewrite history, many average players stayed long past the time they should have back then aswell.

Chelsea have turned down attempts by Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to sign Willian – despite the possibility of losing him for free next summer.

The two La Liga clubs are understood to have offered around £35m for the Brazil international.

However, Chelsea view Willian as an integral player next season in light of Eden Hazard’s departure to Real Madrid and the first period of a two-window transfer ban imposed by FIFA.

It’s been reported that Chelsea may be able to avoid losing the 30-year old for free next July, if they can reach an agreement over a new two-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Aversge player or not with this transfer ban, if anybody thinks we should sell him this summer they need a look in the mirror. We just lost Eden. CHO is injured. Willian, Pedro and Pulisic are our only options right now. CHO probably wont be back to late this year. We need 4 wingers in the squad.

I will give them a pass on the Hazard non-sale as we should only end up with £60 or £70m less than what we could have had if we had sold him last year, ad it is doubtful we would have won the EL, and gotten 3rd place (and thus CL) without him, even with a 'replacement' (unless we went full billy big bollocks and bought Mbappe, which I personally would have done, IF we had wrenched out £190 or £200m for Eden and thus only had to drop around £75m or so more for Kylian). Those extra revenues make up for the loss on Eden sale..

It's incredible how everyone, literally EVERYONE could see it was a once in a lifetime deal for such a limited player. Never saw any Chelsea fan saying 60 mill is too little for him or that he's too good a player to sell... everybody except the fucking stooges in the board. For that money we could have easily sealed a better replacement (Pepe for one), and we wouldn't now be in a situation where we are basically forced to extend his stay beyond his welcome, and then sell him for a fraction of that money.
