Muzchap 8,966
Berbatov is a useful player - but heard he was close to Fulham. We should give Danny a chance as CF...If we are to sign anybody then hope it's Cavanni or Falcao or Neymar Otherwise - we have a great squad.. What does it mean? How do you define it? Are there a few world class players? Or is it anyone who plays for a major international country? All BS as far as I'm concerned. Sturridge has everything needed to be a top class CF, he needs to grow up a little but that comes with experience.
Heisenberg 1,824
World Class strikers : Messi , Ronaldo , Rooney , Ibrahimovic , Drogba , Van Persie , Aguero , players who scores 20-30 goals per season.Sturridge is a good striker , he could be fantastic in his natural position and we need a ST more than a Winger. When? At Bolton when he scored 8 in 12? Or you mean when he's been played out of position at Chelsea his whole time here pretty much? The boy has never had a crack here at this club at CF. He deserves as many games as Torres had last season and his return would have been greater. FACT.

Scored a dozen goals playing out of position as a winger. Did you have a similiar issue with Robben?
incometax 116
if city land david villa as they are expected; surley abra will respond by pulling a trigger on a deal. This one or remy look possible/reasonable, although I think we will end up with remy(just a hunch)
Hutcho 8,443
haven't they already made it clear he is not leaving, perfectly happy for sturridge to stay and there is 0 chance of him leaving if we didn't bring in someone else first. The Rising Sun 711
IMOSturridge is not a world class striker and will never be. He will become quite good, but doesnt have the game to be the CF of any of the top teams in europe.(CL not europa)I like him as a winger, not as a Striker. He is a quality winger, who can develop into a WC winger if he progresses well in that position and becomes a team player, and passes.Rooney is a WC striker, and had the characteristics and talent at 21 or 18...however old he was when he joined united.Sturridge has trickery and pace, and the odd good finish with finesse. His characteristics are perfect for growing into a WC winger, not a striker. He is the type of player who WANTS and NEEDS playing time, preferably as a starter. We clearly cannot give that to him, atleast as a CF.So if he is sold, he should be sold to a club that is willing to make him the No. 1 CF.If we will sell him to another club where he is not a starter, but makes a huge difference when he comes on as a sub, then there is no point selling him, as he is a terrific impact sub for us already. Manuf 1,448
May as well chuck Gerald Asamoah in there. And Cacau. They were rubbish, Klose is the exception rather than the rule. And Podolski doesn't count, Lukas is a German name.Make that Mirosław and Łukasz

Radamel Falcao! If things are based on four standard positions being keeper, defence, midfield and strikers then Messi and Ronaldo have to be considered strikers. The offensive area they play on the field suggests they cannot be classed midfielders.
