He had some of his best game, but not his best season. He had some excellent matches but also some shocking displays (Gama against West ham most recently). Besides he hasn't been the best defender in the league, there are players like Nastasic and Shawcross that have been much more consistent than him.

Every defender in the league has displayed a few shocking games this season. It's been a season fotr strikers to prosper. I agree though, i think maybe Ferdinand get's the favourtism vote. I fucking hate Rio Ferdinand!

So if you score against City, United and Chelsea you're suddenly a worldbeater ? It doesn't work like that.

Sturridge is massively inconsistent and overplays far too often, and still has even in his short time with his new club. He didn't play under RDM for a reason, he was very selfish and had no defensive side to his game, something that is needed by all players in the modern game. The amount of times he let players just wader away from him without putting any effort at all was frustrating and didn't help, and when he did get his chance up front he hardly set the world alight. If he gets his head right then we will regret selling him, without a doubt. But I don't know if he ever will.

What Danny hasn't yet shown anywhere in his career,is whether he can deliver consistantly which means 20+ goals, contributing enough overall to warrant being the lead striker for a team striving to win major honours lol, and I'm still not convinced of that.

You are of course entitled to your own opinion.

Never liked him, never will.

There are so many inconsistencies in this post it's unreal. Never did I say or call Danny a world beater - all I said he is a good player with a bright future because you said he was shit.

You go on any Liverpool supporter forum and you'll see how they're practically in awe of him. One even said he can see Danny being better than Torres if he keeps it up - make of that what you will. You've gone from saying he's shit to saying that if he gets his head in the right place we'll regret selling him - like I said, inconsistencies in your post.

I don't know what you want to see in Danny when it comes to his defensive game. He's a striker for God's sake. You don't need your striker to be top notch at his defensive game. You're basing your hatred of his defensive game on his time here at CFC because he played out wide. You can't expect a guy who's played up front for the majority of his career to be good at defending. Watching Liverpool this season though whilst Danny has been there it's quite easy to see that he does do his job up front when it comes to pressing down the man.

Danny hasn't scored 20 goals in a season yet simply because he hasn't been given the opportunity to. He's not once in his career in first team football played a whole season up front so to write him off based on that is baffling to me. You look at the stats of when he has played up front and you'll easily see that he has the capabilities to be a 20+ goal scorer.

You don't like the player, fine, I'm not asking you to like him, but to call him shit because you don't like him is childish IMO. Yeah, maybe you don't like his "attitude" but you've got to appreciate at least that he's a decent talent. I respect if you think there are aspects of his game he can work on but what I hate is when people pretend it was a good decision to let him go when it obviously wasn't.

He is yet to show that he can consistently deliver 20+ goals per season ; though, whenever he has been given a fair chance in a team, he has scored a lot (and was very good as well). At Bolton, where he was loaned six months, he has scored 8 gaols in 12 games in the League. I have watched four or five of their games in full (and also catched some minutes here and there) and I can tell you he was pretty good. Not only goal-scoring-wise ; his all-over game was good.

In the season 2011-12, he missed the three first games because of the red card he picked up in his last game with Bolton (he scored a goal for his first game). After that and until di Mateo was appointed has care-tacker, Danni played 21 games and scored 9 times in the League. If my memory serves me right, he has scored about 8 goals in 13 games, before we severely fell apart. Moreover, he was pretty important for us in the first part of our season (one of our three best players), and it was in a position which was not his (the right wing).

For the debat sake, in a full "season" (one half with Bolton, a sedonc one with Chelsea), he has scored 17 goals in 33 games. Which is not really bad, isn't it ? Furthermore he was quite important for both team. Now he is at Loserpool, he has scored 7 goals and made 3 assists in 11 League games. So you see, whenever he was given a real chance, he has turned out to be good. Scored 24 goals in 44 games (0,55 goals per game) — which is not bad — and was important for the three teams he played for.

As for his defending game that you appear to criticize, as the Skipper said, you have got remember that he is a striker ; strikers are not exactly famous for their defending game, are they ? Adding to that the fact that for Chelsea, he played as a right winger, and, wingers have to do significantly more work than strikers. Therefore, his lack of defending was hightlighted.

His lack of defensive game is one of the reasons for which di Matteo didn't play him — though that's not the only one. Indeed, di Matteo didn't seem to like Danni that much, which is nothing extraordinary, since pretty much all managers have their chouchou and one guy they don't like. And, during Roberto's spell as a care-tacker, was not suited to play (unless if it was at striker, but that was not possible) since we adopted a defensive tactic. He also seemed to be off-form, though, which 21 years-old player does not show inconsistency ?

The bottom line is that I believe that you're holding a judgment too much harsh regarding his quality, and into my eyes he is way better than what you seem to credit him for.

Quiet? Not OTT cheering but certainly not a low key one. Just good. :) And besides, it's certainly better than being booed!

You're underrating Suarez, the guy deserves a lot more. Liverpool are sh*t and without Suarez they're even more sh*t. They don't have a player who could just replace Suarez and no, not Sturridge. Discussion closed, just watch him a little more (and Liverpool) and then come back.

Take Suarez' goals out of the team and they'd be somewhere near the bottom. #FACT

actually they would be exactly where they are now! I rest my case.

So a player scoring 7 goals in 11 games which include goals + assists against City, United and us is a shit player? Stop being so bitter and cynical. Pacquiao has a fair point in saying that Sturridge would've been on 20+ goals as well had he started as many games as Suarez this season, stats prove that. Why is it so hard for people to praise Sturridge lol? No one said/thinks he's Ronaldo to begin with and if Sturridge is a shit player, well, then most players are too.

Sturridge is pretty good, but he could have never scored even 10 goals in that shit liverpool side. Just go to the dark side of youtube , and watch the goals scored by Suarez. Most of them are due to his own individual brilliance. Danny boy could have never done that :P

Uhhm... He scored 12 goals for us last season you know? And that was from the right wing? Don't be so stupid mate. We're discussing Sturridge here, not Suarez, don't even know why you're mentioning him in the first place.

i wouldn't be surprised if Sturridge finished the season with 10+ tbh. He's on 8 already.
