For me, if Reus is coming in, one of the more senior AMs has to leave, not Salah. I doubt one Schurrle, Oscar or Willian would accept being 5th choice.

I wouldn't even put Oscar into the equation here considering he operates in the CAM position and Reus is more of a wide player. Considering the way we are playing under Mourinho, I'm not even sure if anyone else would come close to what Oscar does for the team.

And if we buy Reus (or whoever else), people are gonna complain we never give the youths a chance.

That's correct, I shouldn't have tbh. Oscar is slowly becoming a very vital piece in the system. My statement still applies to Schurrle and Willian though. Less so to Salah because as I said, he's comfortable with being 5th choice.

So one of Schurrle (unlikely) or Willian out, and Reus in. Senior player in, senior player out. Would be okay I think.

If one of our younger AMs are showing huge potential then perhaps we could offload Salah.

Out of the AM's we have loaned out (e.g Piazon, Traore, Atsu, Moses & Hazard)...who do you think is most likely to make it?

In my opinion, if Traore can get a work permit, he's got the ability to be our 5th AM

Hazard because he is the most complete in terns of offering both attacking and defensive qualities. Can play in more positions. Depending in how he does, Atsu may do so first.

Regardless, do people really think that IF ( big IF) mourinho wanted Reus he wouldn't because we already have enough senior players who wouldn't be happier as back ups?

Hello!!!! Petr Cech anybody? If it improves us, and he would, we will do it. Why buy modric at Madrid when Alonso and Khedira were playing so good together? He took then up a notch.

Traore still has a lot to prove. I'm watching him fairly consistently in the Eredivisie this year though, let's see how he gets on.

Out of those I'd like to see Thorgan come in to challenge Oscar if he has a good year, because I see them as very similar players.

An AM set of Hazard, Reus, Schurrle, Oscar & T. Hazard would be amazing. Both Oscar and Thorgan are capable of playing out wide decently too.

SuperMonkey is right, nowadays football is so competitive even you are extremely successful you still have to make moves to improve the team EVERY SINGLE BIG WINDOW. Barca 10-11 success, decided buy but then still don't win again till now. Bayern, as successful as they are still going out to sign Lewandowski and Benatia when Mandzukic would have likely got them 20 goals in the league, good enough but for a better player it is an easy decision.

No need to do a Madrid and sign for the sake of signing but when we see a gap in the squad, no matter how small it is the opportunity is there and cannot be missed. For example Khedira next summer means we sell Mikel then so be it, Varane is available then no matter how good of a season Terry will have it is a must.

I think this all depends on the performance of Willian and Oscar this season. If they're both very good then even if he becomes available we will probably pass on him. But if Willian is lacklustre or Oscar plays anything like he did towards the back end of last season then I could see us shipping whichever one out and replacing them with Reus. We have spare money after our amazing transfer window and if one of the best players in the world becomes available you HAVE to consider making them a part of your team if you want to be the best.

Huge if. Rooting for Willian though.

Huge if is right, i wonder some realize Willian is 26 not some 21 year old. People need to accept that he is what he is. A very good player but will never be a great finisher and always lack a great end product.

For me his best position is through the middle, always has played his best football in that role. But i hardly doubt he would get regular games there with us, with the options we have.

Huge fan of Reus and love to see him here, but i have a feeling Bayern will buy him next summer to replace Ribary.

We have the right kind of squad now to never have to make 5-6 big transfers a summer. One or two transfers in and out every summer should be the plan moving forward. Look at how much work we've done to reach this point and look at how mad Man Utd's spending has been this calendar year.

One thing I do want to see us do is continue buying promising talent between 18-21 and loaning them out.

Never? in 5-6 years we will have to start rebuild again, football is a cycle. Not even the likes of Fabregas/Costa will go into their late 30s like Drogba and Lampard. Yep I know 1-2, but those 1-2 have to be about players like Reus and not just signing someone like Van Ginkel for squad depth.

We shouldn't have to make wholesale changes every summer with the squad we have now, just one or two quality additions every now and again. If we go about our business smartly from now on we won't need to do what Man Utd have done this summer.

We have a good mix of young talent and experienced players, almost a perfect balance.
