Yes but Torres had it before. If it was possible for him to lose it, why wouldn't it be possible for him to win it back?

I used to be able to do a flip. Knee'd myself in the face whilst doing it one day. Never been able to do it again despite trying over and over again. So yeah Torres is fucked, he's not getting that back.

Torres is an Abramovich signing. Mata is not. He's been treated with kid's gloves from the moment he stepped into this club. We reconstructed our playing style because of Torres. We signed attacking midfielders galore to get the best out of Torres, even to the detriment of our team. We started an entire season with only Torres as the recognized striker. Better strikers have gone because of him. We've handed everything to him on a plate. It can't be just about the fee we've paid. I'm not saying Jose is a yes-man. I don't believe he is, BUT Mourinho is the manager. He's also an employee and takes orders even on some football related matters. He said it himself.

Mata is more useful than Torres in CFC.

I know this might sound a bit cuntish, but imagine he was out for a few weeks (maybe even a month) back in 2012/13 under Di Matteo when we only had him and Sturridge available as strikers. What if Sturridge showed the form he's been showing at Liverpool...

Or he could have failed his medical and we would never have signed him :)

I like Sturridge, but we will see how good he is without a Suarez or Rooney lining up next to him. Lallana and Sturridge COULD work well --or Lambert-Sturridge. Lambert's a very good passer

What happen to his natural goal scoring ability. Look at his goals below:

Than this Fails:

it's all down to confidence and he's lost his. That's why sometimes he can score some very nice goals, the vid below yours with his 2013/14 goals have some very tidy finishings by him. But he doesn't have confidence to make them week in, week out.

As his main problem imo is that, you can never make predictions about his season. I think last season was the best he's had for us because despite scoring only 11 in all comps (only 5 in EPL), he linked up well with our players, I think Schurrle and him have a good understanding. IF and there's a big IF here, Costa can stay healthy the whole season (that's not the IF part, although let's pray for it), Fernando and Drogba could be enough as #2s. You suppose Mourinho won't substitute Costa unless the match is already ours or he's feeling some small injury/tiredness. In those cases bring Nando and it won't affect us much how he does as we would probably be already leading the match comfortably. The key for us is Costa being healthy the 10 months. As a backup plan, that Mourinho will know when to use and when not, Fernando won't be that imo based on how useful he was last season, despite still being what I'd label failure. He was better than he were in previous years for us, but he's still bad.

It still makes the situation very risky because rarely a player goes a whole season without even a minor injury and depending on the timing of it, relying on only Torres and Drogba could cost us titles. So the prayer circle start for Costa's health.

Whoa. Someone on here not totally bashing Nando? Awesome. Top post, as usual. :D

Another worry I have is that I think Costa may pick up a number of suspensions ..hope not but worried

he gets booked a lot, especially for a striker

7 yellow cards in 34 (+1 as sub) league matches, 2 in 9 UCL, 3 in 5(+1) Copa del Rey.

But the fact he played in 35 league games and 9 UCL matches from 38 and 10 possible, means he doesn't miss too many matches a season.
