Fernando Torres

Pass it to who exactly? He had no support, he had to dribble and try and create something. He won us two free kicks in decent areas but because we were just poor with our set pieces yesterday we failed to capitalise.

Same thing being said. I'll just re-post my point...

True. I don't deny that there was hardly any service given to him and his drive to take on players with the dribbling helped to bring us up the pitch but there were also times when he did do that, support arrived in 2-3 players and he could have passed it. Instead, he was too keen to do everything by himself. It was good that he look to dribbled past players, taking them on to give us some attacking impetus but I was just faulting his decision making on some occasions.

He was pretty poor, didn't ever look like scoring. I am just praying for another moment like against Barca where he gets a great goal and sends us to the final.

A girl can dream :)

Wait, you're a girl.... what!

Howyouuudoing ? ;-)

I am not his biggest fan but please don't tell me people are giving him slack for his performance against Atletico? We set up utterly defensive and did not do much to win the game and when we did actually go forward he was the only one who looked dangerous. Won us a couple free kicks IIRC with his decent runs. The attacking support or team set up would be difficult for any striker in our team for that game to standout but he done better than I expected rather than looking like a complete ghost. Got to give credit when it is deserved.

You would not stop hearing about it from some people had Costa had put in a similar performance in our utterly defensive set up.

Torres is the only player that can get praised for the smallest of thing's.

You know I'm no Torres supporter of any sort pal, but I find the fact that people are blasting him quite absurd considering he did okay. He wasn't great or even good he was merely decent, wasn't bad as some are trying to make it out to be... Doesn't mean I or others are trying to praise him!

i was referring to the game he played against us

Don't really see anyone 'praising' him for the day before; some are stating it's unwise to judge him on playing one game against England's best - which is sensible, and others are casting doubts over his ability based on that one off game - which is hilarious.

do you understand what i said? i said i judged him for the match against us. Read costa thread, u'll know I'm all over him. But saying torres is useless or just did small things against Atletico, now that is hilarious

People will criticize Torres no matter what, as if they spent the £50M or whatever was paid to Liverpool for him. He had a decent game and helped us create our only decent chances.

Yes people will criticize him, but don't you think it's justified?

I cheer from the stands because he plays for the club I love but since his move here he has been nothing short of a disaster. When people says Torres did well I am more inclined to think it was dressed up and it was no more than an average performance but bordering on poor.

The main problem with this bloke is how it seems he has just lost all trail of thought on how to move off the ball, that's the biggest issue I have with him, and couple that with how bad his control is and it points you in the direction of one big nightmare. Off the ball he does not make sensible or dangerous runs nor does he show for the ball at the times that are right or when he should. If you watch him off the ball he will not arc his run, he stays behind the defender he should be in front of and gives absolutely no option for for the man with the ball.

His asset of pace has all but gone, his desire is dead and what was clinical finishing went the moment he arrived.

You can't solve a problem like Fernando Torres.

He was quiet but had a couple off runs and won a free kick, i have seen Drogba and even Eto'o have better games and get absolutely blasted.
