If I remember rightly Bogarde atleast had the self respect to carry on training and keep himself in a decent shape for Ranieri to have a u turn if he ever choose to.

If Torres was ever put in the same situation it would surprise me if he even did that given his attitude with us.

you can loan the player out after buying him. thats why they bought him. His loan to Atletico is official now for 18 months. We didnt get any fee for him and let him go for free, so that Milan can transfer him to Atletico. In the end, he is off the book and its better for us but Milan surely wouldnt pay any fee for him
