couris 232
Too late for repaying the 50m? If he plays like he was in Liverpool he will be worth 100m.

Tomo 21,751
The problem with Torres is he scores and plays well in spades, that's good for a squad player (as he has been this season) but as numero uno up front we can't afford to have a player who blows hot and cold, as we found out last season.Im happy he is on good form because it helps Chelsea football club but is Schalke and Tottenham games going to convince me he has finally made a spectacular turn around after the two and a half years he has served us? sorry buy it takes more to sway me and if he didn't cost £50m there would be a lot more people with the same view.Kalou hit top form under Ancelotti at the end of the double season too and helped us win the league, didn't change the fact he was an erratic squad player at best. I hope he can atleast keep up the good form he has done in recent weeks, but it going to take a lot more than that to sway my opinion. Barbara 15,149
Also goals are goals but Drogba scored goals against the highest caliber of oppositions and many of Torres goals came against Europa League opponents and as you say Drogba just offered many other things than goals. The amount of goals he got us that got us trophies and decided big games were priceless.I partially disagree.I say it's blasphemy ever comparing Torres to DDA, but Torres has scored against highest caliber of oppositions too. He may have not scored enough times, but he's scored especially in Europe.

He may have not scored enough times, but he's scored especially in Europe.Barcelona, yes when he came on, his goal was priceless but apart from that has he proved to be the match winner in big games. He got consolation goals against the likes of United in the 3-1 loss and scored against Arsenal when we beat them at the Emirates last season but apart from that he as not scored against big teams or made a huge impact. In Europe, with all respect he scored against teams such as Genk. Drogba scored against so many big teams and was the decisive factor in many big games in domestic and European competitions. That being said it is good that he is looking on form right now but I have seen it far too often. Hopefully he can carry on his form and add a few more goals to his game and be the decisive factor like the game on Tuesday night where he was excellent. Popular Post! CHOULO19 24,332 Posted October 24, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted October 24, 2013 Does he have to be either back or still shit? I mean is there no grey area in between?Fernando has been playing mostly very good this season and has performed, imo, the best among our strikers so far. Can't we all just hope that he continues this well?We finally have three strikers on some sort of good form which is a near miracle. We will be needing all three of them to perform well this season if we want to win trophies. Even Torres understands that. After the game when he was asked about Eto'o scoring at the weekend he said he was happy about it and hopes that he continues to do so so that we continue to get results. Sidzeret 2,257
Really happy that the first goal was a real centre forwards goal which is what everyone's expecting him to get. Also the header that hit the crossbar showed he still is one of the most lethal strikers in the world. Time to bring back the trust on the lad.
NiclasCFC 2,582
We should stop comparing Torres to his old self (Because that is clearly gone) and start comparing him with the other strikers in the league atm. If he can keep up his current form he isnt too bad IMO. iceboy
tmessy 139
goalscoring form or not, I think this season has been a clear indicator that the TEAM plays better with Torres upfront. You cannot argue against that, it is very odd to see. The team just jells more.

Pacquiao 1,834
Torres is more settled to our system now! i think he will score more than the 23 he got last season!

You cannot argue against that, it is very odd to see. The team just jells more. Thats quite simple to explain, even though Torres has been decent its not Because of him the team plays so good. This team is at its best when we can counter attack and every match we are expected to defend low and counter with pace Torres has been the starter. When we play against team that park the buss our best option is Etoo because of his (so far) amazing link up play and how technical he is in small spaces. kellzfresh
Stats 7,142
Torres is more settled to our system now! i think he will score more than the 23 he got last season! Highly doubt it even if he continues his good form. Last season we played a huge amount of games and he got more chances as he was basically one of our 2 attackers. Now we have three and Torres will be rotated for many. Last season Torres had to play all the European games because Ba was cup-tied and we did not have any other reliable options at the time. Now we have three strikers. Would be amazing he could but a lot of the reason he got those goals as stated was because we kept playing him and played a higher percentage of games more than most teams. This season he will be rotated a lot to refresh our attacking options but would be good to see him get near those figures.
The_Flash 1,144
I think should he continue with this good form there won't be much rotation, if he is good Jose will play him and I think that would also help getting a run of games
Barbara 15,149
Well, Eto'o is also in good form, why shouldn't have rotation? It should imo especially because you don't want to overload one player if you have a replacement that is just as good. Also Eto'o and Nando play different styles, some matches are more suit for one and some to the other.Let's not get carried away, Torres has been playing well, but that's it well. he isn't on a Lewandowski form that justifies the lack of rotation. He's good and that's about it. So is Eto'o right now and both with realistic room for improvement
