  1. 1. Rafa Out?

In some ways it reminded me of AVB first conference but RB is just miles ahead of him. Anyway, as I expected, he will trust his team at first before actually making some moves in the transfer window. We are at the same where we were.

I'm really curious to see his team against Man City and in other games.

Mourinho's words in April 2004, a mere 2 months before taking the Chelsea job.

"Liverpool are a team that interests everyone and Chelsea does not interest me so much because it is a new project with lots of money invested in it. I think it is a project which, if the club fail to win everything, then Abramovich could retire and take the money out of the club. It's an uncertain project"

Mourinho clearly stating he preferred the Liverpool job (in 2004). Bare that in mind when using Rafa's past words against him.

Your way of looking at things is stupid, so lets say if Guardiola said our fans are scum and said Chelsea are a bad club, then a few year later was appointed, you wouldn't have a problem with that?, infact you would be more than happy to give that man support? 'merely' because we appointed him.

Yes, because he's our manager and I want him to do well. Ergo, I support him in his role.

I don't particularly care for him as a person but he's Chelsea manager and that's enough for me to support him in his time at the club.

I don't care at all about Rafa. I'll support him and hope he does well. What makes me sick is the management carousel, the absurd expectations on managers where a few bad games gets you sacked, and the inability of the board to learn its lessons. We need a long-term manager. It should have been Ancelotti but we fired him. It needs to be someone though. This can't continue.

I agree we should go for someone long term, but that second season with Ancelotti was pretty poor in all honesty.

Mourinho set the bar extremely high and we've never truly replaced him. He's still 'our manager' in a very weird way. We all know who Roman truly wants to be Chelsea manager and it wasn't ever going to be Robbie.

Like him or loathe him but you have to admit that he has an aura of a "manager" about him. A manager that knows what he has let himself in for. Not seen that since Jose, who couldn't give a stuff what anyone thought of him. Benitez was honest enough to admit that the one thing that will keep him in a job is to keep winning. Clearly he will have little responsibility for acquisitions and the backroom staff will remain with a few additions that for me is the best of both worlds. Hopefully he will kick coaching butts as well as players. Roll on Sunday and let's see what transpires.

Think you should look at cup wins - it's been a successful strategy for us and is modelled on Italy and Spain's way of approaching management

Ferguson/moyes and Wenger are the last of long term managers IMHO...

This will be the future in the Quick Fix world we live in!

Do I like it or agree with it? No - but that's life, just have to deal with it ...

If you noticed he praised, our spanish players hahaha on asked how players looked during training he said "i think ramires, azpilicueta, david luiz and oscar had a good training session today." go figure! lmao.

Out of all the names mentioned, only Azpi is spanish.

Lol you hear what you want to hear Jay. This is just your prior judgments speaking. I thought he had a nice uneventful press conference which is imo the best kind.

Can say that all you want. Doesn't denied the fact that he dodged several questions like when he was asked about his previous comment about not joining Chelsea or other clubs in England due to his respect for Liverpool. Then when talking about his past success, he likens winning La Liga to having won the Premier League in his CV and even spouted nonsense about Guardiola has never won the Premier League! Regarding the captaincy question, he said Terry will keep it by saying "An easy decision. Normally, yes." Normally?! As said, he was being evasive and hardly endeared himself to the fans though he seem to know that he won't be here beyond this season. Since he's only here to get the results, then whatever. Just want to see him start winning again.

He did mention Romeu a couple of times as well I think.

Mentioned his name when RB said he spoke to the leaders of the dressing room like Cech, Terry, Lampard etc.

That was it yeah, I think he was trying to say that both the senior players and the younger players all have the same attitude in training/the dressing room.

And about the JT captaincy issue, I believe he meant that Terry will 'normally' be captain but can't because obviously he's out injured.

Those are my interpretations though. It could be fun having a cryptic manager...

I am sorry but I have to repeat myself. This is how a coward and a cunt answeres unpleasant questions.
