  1. 1. Rafa Out?

Recommended Posts

Not sure whose press conference is worse, AVB or Rafa's. He just keeps on repeating the same answers, going around the bush and conveniently answered some while dodging others. A bloody awful press conference!

That's what happens when "journalists" turn up with about 3 unique questions slightly changed to masquerade as many different ones.

He was asked next to nothing of note. The same crap was put to him over and over. All he could do was drop sound bites, which is all any new coach is going to do.

This is why I find it funny that people are "coming round to him" after 20 mins of crap questions.

It's utterly irrational to dislike him before he came."He said things about Chelsea in the past", of course he did, he was a rival teams manager. Now already, people have changed their tunes, "I've come round him now, he's saying all the right things". Well, you know, of course he is. He isn't going to come in and say, "Hey, I have no ambition and I don't care about winning". Like I said, it's sound bites and buzz words. People who change their minds so easily, show themselves up, in my opinion, to be your typically fickle football fans.

I think we just give him a chance. There's nothing we can do about RDMs sacking, in fact, I think RDMs popularity has done wonders to cover up his management ineptitude. Rafa has quality and with any luck he can do the job. If he can, then that's good enough for me. And I can guarantee this, if he does become a success, it will be good enough for all the complainer too.

I don't hate him...See, things are different at our club now....We've had so many managers come in and go in the past few months, that there's no sense of real attachment towards any of them (except for maybe RDM who's ex-Chelsea).

I just see them as professionals doing their job, and I'll rate them based on how well they do it. Rafa's no different.

Of course, and that is the correct attitide, for many however they wouldn't care if he won us 3 trophies this year they would still forever hate him...

The coments here are too one sided. It is either extrememly good or bad.

He is still a cunt and has done nothing to deserve the fans respect yet. We dont need to chant insults to him (because he is our manager) but we dont need to cheer his name either.

He had a great conference though, he was smart not to fall into the many traps the media wanted and I like his pragmatism. He will focous on inside the ptich issues and make evaluations to the board. I enjoy the fact he knows he will leave at the end of the season and that he is only here to win game by game and acumulate as many trophies as possible. I was also pleased with his staff apointments, I really think they will improve the team.

LETS WAIT AND SEE...

A rant about rants....

We have had too many diplomatic managers of late,it would be a refreshing change to see a Chelsea manager who would proffer a spontaneous rant of his own volition or succumb to the inducement of the media...I for one wouldn't entirely disapprove if the media is able to elicit such a response from RB,as I believe it would take some of the pressure off the team...great managers have always done that,Fergie,Wenger,Redknapp,Keegan,Mourinho have all indulged in it to shift the focus off the players in difficult times....I'll actually prefer a passionate fulmination over the sort of pragmatic discourses that our recent gaffers seemed to have been capable of...the next time someone like Clattenburg costs us a match,Rafa's unequivocal condemnations would probably earn him a touchline ban,but I would take that over an apologetic explanation any day of the week...we loved Jose for his adoption of innovative methods to flout UEFA's touchline ban,we appreciated AVB for vehemently defending David Luiz in the wake of Neville's playstation comment,I'm sure RB will win us over with his unbridled displays of passion for the club...

Could have answered the questions better to begin with rather than dodging in, going around the bush and repeating the nonsense he talks about.

RDM was better. Straight to the point and no messing about. Some of the things Benitez said was just nonsense.

Lol you hear what you want to hear Jay. This is just your prior judgments speaking. I thought he had a nice uneventful press conference which is imo the best kind.

Meh nothing new there then. Some of this post match interviews after Liverpool games used to be a bit bizzare.Guess made it harder for the media to completly twist things...

What he said about in the past...shite as it may be..end of the day he was hardly gana praise us fans.Rival clubs etc, just going at things from all angles....still not mad keen on the bloke but give him a chance..and hope Roman's risk pays off really...last place I thought see the guy or really wanted to but end of the day nothing can be done or changed

I would rather that than some one with verbal diarrhea, imagine Redknapp's first press conference had we appointed him, i can imagine it now.

"Yes, well it was a good opportunity and you can't turn Chelsea down, Gourlay was on the phone to me Saturday night to tell me Robbie was on thin ice and about to get the sack and asked me if i would be interested if the opportunity comes, triffic".

He's agreed to become the Chelsea manager.

Call me old-fashioned but that used to be enough to deserve my support.

Your way of looking at things is stupid, so lets say if Guardiola said our fans are scum and said Chelsea are a bad club, then a few year later was appointed, you wouldn't have a problem with that?, infact you would be more than happy to give that man support? 'merely' because we appointed him.

I don't care at all about Rafa. I'll support him and hope he does well. What makes me sick is the management carousel, the absurd expectations on managers where a few bad games gets you sacked, and the inability of the board to learn its lessons. We need a long-term manager. It should have been Ancelotti but we fired him. It needs to be someone though. This can't continue.

Rafa didn't call us scum tho did he?

I imagine most of our squad have slagged the club off at some point. Cole, Terry and Lampard grew up as Arsenal, United and West Ham fans respectively, do you honestly believe they never at any point in their childhood said some vile things about us?

Once Roman finds the guy he wants it will. The fact is he never wanted any of the coaches (except Mourinho and Ancelotti), so he finds it difficult to have patience in a bad sequence with the wrong managers. I am not saying he is right (cause he is not), but that is how he feels.

I never said he did, I'm making up my own example, because i think it's incredibly stupid to give a manager respect just because they are Chelsea manager.

That man could have said things in the past, and Rafa has, we all know he's a big mouth and a very opinionated man.

He has to earn his respect.
