  1. 1. Rafa Out?

Recommended Posts

I've been on this forum for 2 years and seen the Carlo Out thread, the AVB Out thread, Di Matteo was sacked before one was even made. Benitez for me just isn't good enough, he's far from a fans favourite to begin with, he's gotten us out of two cups we were currently favourites for, and in the process has made Stamford Bridge a laughing stock. I've had enough, he hasn't even wanted to bring in anymore new players, what you think we can still go onto challenge for the title now we have Demba Ba?. These results have been incredibly inconsistent, what's going on?, you're 2-0 up against one of the most vulnerable sides in the premier league (i believe they've conceded the most goals so far) and instead we concede 2 more goals.

Though instead of me just ranting my arse off, why not just turn this into a decent debate.

What does everyone else think about this? should we give Rafa more time? or are we just making things worse for ourselves. I know their are hardly any good replacements, but surely Roman will find a way, I am sick of him, it's like he makes us lose on purpose. DISCUSS

All emotions aside, this had nothing to do with Rafa Benitez. Look at the facts, we just don't take our chances, not even the decent ones. Lampard seems to be obsessed with the record, wants to prove a point to the board it seems - very selfish against the team. Sure, to certain point Benitez has to take the blame, it comes with the job but some statements I read are like shooting blind-folded, not even connected to Benitez. We try to walk to ball in at times or make wrong decisions to shoot or to pass. 17 y.o Luke Shaw just made the 1st goal for them, look how much room he had and for the pass. Same for Puncheon, had a century to pick a pass out. both quality finishes but go down to defensive errors. That was our game in hand and we blew it.

Look at the bright side, we are still 5 points clear of Everton who are 5th. Top4 finish is really all we should aim for and secure this season. We need a change but I'm afraid I can't put my finger on it what's going on at Chelsea. Something's not clicking. Perhaps exhaustion, perhaps just bad luck, who knows.

Rafa must stay atleast till June, who'd you replace him with? And saying "anyone but him" only proves that people are high on emotions rather than thinking it over realistically.

Arsenal up next, kind of wish it was in the Emirates

I know saying YES RAFA OUT is a popular statement, even more after a draw which feels like a loss with all the emotions, but this team isn't only about Rafa and Torres. Senior players need to step up, seeing how spineless the team is without a proper leader- Lampard is a great footballer but he is not a leader, quietly goes along his role. The team is young and the more you need guidance of an older player who has been in Chelsea for so long time. I think the solution is to get rid of the old guard except Cech, lose the player power, but that can only come in the summer.

Till then we are stuck with Rafa and like it or not, we can't get a better coach atm. I agree with people that he is too slow to make changes but didnt most of the TC 'experts' praise him for his starting line up today? The line up was good, the created chances, but the thing that describes our season so far is utter WASTEFULNESS. We create so many chances but we just can't convert. Of course Torres is not the only culprit, far from it. That said, we should cash in on him and get a striker in in the summer. When it comes to Rafa, there are a lot of fans that never gave him a chance, clinging on to easy arguments like 'he said bad things to us' etc... We fans are a reason why home form has been rubbish, no proper support from our own stadium. The inconsistency, one moment we clap and sing, the other moment we boo. Singing the RDM song is all great and all, but he is gone, we should sing about our players, club and move on. Being so stuck in the past is holding us back and we are starting to sound like liverpool fans referring to history etc. This kind of attitude should stop, deep inside we all know it.

Sloth, come on, I supported "Carlo out", "AVB out" and wasnt angry when RDM got the axe.

But the last thing we need right now, is sacking 2 managers in the same sesaon. All we can do is pray for a place in UCL next season, and ask for another manager next season.

I am pissed with the way results are going but when have Chelsea in recent times had a full consistent season since Mourinho's days?

Anyway yeah getting slightly more annoyed at this shit, we had an incredible home record under Jose and under Carlo for a bit and now well now its just gone to shit but still its a transition and Roman wants these smaller, frailer, technical players who beat teams with their skill/technique rather than the more physically imposing players we had in the team before like Alex, Essien, Drogba, Anelka, Ballack etc who were incredibly gifted technically as well as physically. If we'd got rid of some players after winning the double and built a younger side by now we wouldn't have such problems due to hopefully players being more experienced in the PL and such situations. Also hopefully they would have more of a winners mentality, just like if we'd at least won the Club World Cup and Community Sheild or whatever. We lack leadership on the field. We also missed Mikels calmness and tactical awareness in MF too, Ramires was awful, Oscar all over the joint, Cole and Azpi both given more than enough problems. Lamps ok but still its incredible that with the players we have and against such opposition we are struggling.

Its still a transition so I'm not as bothered as if it were a team full of world class 26-29 year olds in their prime as the team will improve in the coming years. Do we want to be that though?

Anyway one thing I have to say is I'm delighted Ba is scoring, keep Torres out of the team hopefully. The guy is shit (Torres btw, Ba is a beast)

I'll let you in on this, I'm furious, but i know this isn't just kneejerk. My anger was probably my motivation to actually say you know what fuck it let me get my point across by a thread. But i wont regret this tomorrow, as i seriously do think Rafa needs to go.

Coming to think of it now might not be the best time, as Arsenal are coming up, but afterwards will do despite how stupid it sounds.

In all honesty i would just go out and spend a shit load right now to bring in another manager, I'm just sick of it, Lampard is incredibly greedy at the moment. And we are lucking the vulnerable side we once looked under Di Matteo when he was losing. Despite getting rid of John Obi Mikel, we are still looking shite defensively sometimes. Against Swansea we were great, but very unlucky.

However Metsaj you need to have a backbone, you can't just say 'NO IT'S NOT RAFA'S FAULT, IT'S THE PLAYERS' I've heard that shite for 2 seasons now, we've gotten new players and we've also haven't gotten the right ones. And the players can't be blamed for that, we need to find that right manager, and jesus everyone knows that ain't Benitez. Rafa has to take responsibility, if we are going to concede shitty goals, then he has to sort it out with the players, start showing and enforcing some dicipline. Hell i don't know but if he can't do it then he obviously ain't the right man for the job, i know things aren't as easy as it sounds but that's the point, we need someone who can actually handle it, OH AND ACTUALLY BUY SOME RIGHT PLAYERS.

If anything I'd support using the transfer window to get some much needed energy in the CM position, perhaps striker to cover Ba and someone to rotate and at the same time maintain the quality when Mata or Hazard is off. Probably not though, summer seems more wise to re-build. All I hope for is no panic buys

Rafa needs to go but at the end of the season. It just wouldn't be fair to the players to have three managers in one season. We're just going to have to stick it out and hope we finish in the top four.

I think what he is trying to say, like all the 'Rafa fans' is that it's a shared blame. And adding the mistakes up we get a TNT waiting to explode. As it stands, Rafa must stay till the summer and we must urgently get some leadership on the field. That said, even if Rafa won all the games coming up till the end of the season, I think the hatred of some fans towards him is blind and he does not have a permanent place here, nor does Torres even if he finds his goalsco...lol - who am i kidding?

You have to realise though some of the games is the players faults. The Club World Cup final, lets be honest, half the team played shit. Cahill and Torres should of both scored. Ramires should of went for the header with Guerrero. Individual mistakes cost us games. Ivanovic vs Swansea potentially cost us another cup final. So did awful finishing though. In the games we've played well and fucked up due to individual mistakes its hard to blame Rafa even though I suppose everyone gets called out even if they played a part or not. Azpi and Cole were bad all night, whoever lost Lambert for that header, cost us in a sense, in fact Hazard's shoddy defending for Clyne's cross also played a part. If they didn't get that goal we go on and win the game. Fact. :Goober:

Like George Bush said to Harold and Kumar, you just read my motherfucking mind.

We have also gotten rid of intelligent players such as Michael Ballack and haven't replaced them. Instead we are looking for more flair rather than the physical prescence.

Ryan watch this

LOOK HOW DIFFERENT OUR PLAY IS, yes i do know that season under Scolari was a bad season, but we played like this under Mourinho and Ancelotti, look how we are so physical and ever player can hold the ball up. We are not getting pushed off the ball, we don't need to have space to do something.

Now we get pushed off the ball and look way too vulnerable for the other side, instead of investing in so many attackers and wanting to be the next Barcelona, we need to get some players who bring more physical and technical prescence to the team. It's why i wanted the likes of Tiote, despite getting slated for it, he's the man who can do the dirty job, like Javi Garcia for City. But not just that players who can pass the ball, who can come on and allow players to move forward and get into space. Instead we seemed to be being everybodies bitch and bending over when the other side has the better mentallity.
