Magic Lamps 11,692
Will we press them or sit back. Point is if we sit back and let them have the ball they will get chances to pick out the runs of Suarez, Sterling and Assidi/Suso, we must press them as high up as possible so they make mistakes. Hope Robbie thinks the same and goes for pressing them high up. I mean look what Swansea did to us with their pressing in the game last weekend and again what Swansea did at Anfield in the Capital One Cup. We do that and they're bound to concede possession and we have players more than capable of doing that and then producing magic with the ball. We have to press them, they aren't Spain or Barca but they are a good side with the ball, everyone must work hard and disrupt their rhythm and then take chances we create as we were a bit toothless in the games vs Shaktar and Swansea. We will have to keep the ball very well too as they will press us high up too.WHO IS THAT?but agree with that tactic we also pressed ManU and got them at the ass. the problem was our lack of a proper finisher and our lack of tracking back in counters. Gotta feelin it will be similar. Hope this match does not get decided by fitness. When does Lamps come back? It is about time. We are not the same without him. Esp in those games his experience is crucial. Even as a sub his exceptional qualities as leader and finisher can be key.
Magic Lamps 11,692
Chill lack pace. How that? Cahill is actually a very good sprinter. Remember how often he even overtook messi in those two games to tackle him from front.
Backstreet09 499
why are we playing the 4-2-3-1 formation ? I mean whats the point of the 2 there ? when we are leaking cheap goals pretty much every game ? why dont we bench mikel or ramires and use moses on the wing , plus mata and oscar could drop deep a little ? The Skipper 20,609
It's not a coincidence that since JT's been out we've conceded a lot more. Don't know when people will wake up and smell the coffee - always using the JT is too slow argument but can I ask; when has JT ever had pace in his career? Terry - Luiz/Cahill is about 20 times more solid than Cahill - Luiz. Hope he starts.

Amblève. 4,995
Lol no i want to change the formation , 4-1-4-1 something like that =PAnd shall be playing as the lone holding midfielder?Benching the 2 players who have been defensive monsters in the last few games would be suicide. Not to mention the fact that our real defensive problems lie somewhere else...

Jase 43,479
Lol no i want to change the formation , 4-1-4-1 something like that =P and i dont want to them to play as a holding MF CechIva - Terry - Luiz - Cole ----- Mikel------------ Oscar- Mata -----Moses --------- Hazard ------ Torres ------The irony of suggesting Mikel/Ramires to be benched and then putting Oscar and Mata in CM. That lineup is even more suicidal than now! Mata is not a CM to begin and Oscar can play as a CM but he's not a workhorse like Ramires where his energy and workrate is essential in that midfield of ours. That said, the problem we are conceding the goals is not because of the 4-2-3-1 formation. It's because of our defensive organization as a team. If no one tracks their player, get back into the defensive shape quickly, cover up the spaces etc, then we are bound to get exploited like we are now and no change of formation is gonna solve that. Players make formation works, not the other way round.

Hutcho 8,443
JT HAS TO START IF FIT!please no one tell me he is not quick enough or whatever else. He defends like a beast and has the best organisational and captaincy skills on our team. I will take a good, solid well organised defence, over an all over the place quick one every day of the week.CechIvan Cahill TERRY Bertrand.... Mikel RamboMata Oscar Hazard MosesIs what i would play but it will most likely be that with torres up front and david luiz alongside JT if he is fit. A bit worried about Bertrand at Left back but liverpool shouldn't give too much of a problem in wide areas, especially compared to shakhtar.
