Money's money I guess, even if it comes from one of the most corrupt human rights abusing places on the planet

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce a ground-breaking partnership with Grand Royal, one of the leading companies in Burma.

The two-year relationship will see Grand Royal Whisky become the official whisky of Chelsea FC in Burma and Grand Royal Premium Drinking Water become the club's official water in the country.

Grand Royal has obtained the rights to use the Chelsea FC logo and images of players and co-branded merchandise.

Ever since its launch 15 years ago, Grand Royal has engaged with its consumers through various activities in football, sponsoring two Grand Royal Challenge Cups, and being the founding title sponsor for the first National League, helping the sport to turn professional in the country.

Grand Royal Whisky is the most popular whisky in Burma, enjoying considerable growth since its 1997 launch. Grand Royal also markets Grand Royal Premium Drinking Water, and is the flagship brand of International Beverages Trading Company Limited (IBTC).

Adrian New, managing director of Chelsea FC Asia said: 'Chelsea Football Club are very excited to be able to announce a partnership between Europe's number one club and Burma's number one whiskey brand.

'The partnership is only within Burma itself and Grand Royal will have access to Chelsea FC imagery and merchandise to run customer promotions.

Chelsea FC are delighted to have been able to agree this deal as the club have many millions of fans in the country. We know the Premier League is followed avidly, and this partnership will enable our supporters to engage more actively with the club.'

I don't think professional football clubs are the right organisations for people to appeal for ethical sensibilities.

Its not Chelsea ''amnesty international'' FC. Its Chelsea ''make as much money possible by any means necessary, and if that means fleecing the fans, so be it'' FC

our owner .....Russian Jew ,,,,should we ask him to leave as we don't want his money?????

Off course we want his money, off course we want Gazprom money and we want Burma money. It is highly unethical, but lets get back to reality and stop dreaming of utopia.

The club needs the money, the company needs a way to clean it. Let us have a partnership, it works for me....

I agree with you!
