I have fallen out of love for football and I just don't know what it is. I don't get as excited anymore and I can miss a Chelsea game and not even have the urge to follow it up and watch it. The thing is its not falling out of love for Chelsea its football in general, I don't even get excited when Holland player either and it's a little annoying but its reality. Does anyone else fell this way ????

More fallen out of love with Chelsea a little bit for me. I still love football both international the rest of the prem and the lower leagues. If im there i truly wan't us to win but if im not im honestly not nearly as fussed as i used to be. Even in the Champions league final, because i wasn't there i didn't feel truly part of it.

Chelsea is football for me, can't stand watching England unless i am either with friends or nothing is on (tournaments sometimes catch half-game). Media has really spoiled the 'image' for the sport, the bias journalism gets tiring, the same old worshipping of the Manchester clubs, with the BBC orgasming everytine either club wins a fucking match. I watch MotD to see the games but skip the 'expert' analysis. Chelsea over England, Chelsea over Football!

KTBFFH!

I still have the love for football to be honest. Where i must see all chelsea games in some way and i also watch pretty much all the premier league matches. I am only 19 though so don't know whether that will change when i have real life problems on top of that, but its still definately there.

Re-watch the second leg of napoli, Barca 2 legs and the final, and when your hair stands on end, you know its there. :)

must admit Im rather surprised by the level of disenchantment ,,

good to see a sense of proportion about what really is important in life ,,,

If the players and owners cared as much about the fans as the fans cared for their clubs ,........... but that stopped happening

Spot-on...

But I think WE are very lucky with Roman and the players we've had, they really haven't been that mercenary - unlike some clubs :)

I see where your coming from, when i started following football and then for a good few years i was a fanatic, guessing scores, watching any and every game that was on that was live etc etc...

Even a few years ago i was watching MOTD and the football league show every week (unless i was out then i would record it) without fail.

If im honest my love and enthusiasm for Chelsea is the same as it was back then, i will still keep interest exactly the same way and watch every game with a few exceptions but my love for football in general is slowly sliding. For example most weeks now i just record MOTD and skip straight to the Chelsea match, i rarely even bother with the other games unless a Chelsea loanee scored.

So to cut it short, Chelsea my interest and enthusiastic is still as strong as day one, football as a whole on the other hand .........

yes ..we are lucky in having an owner who isnt in it to make money ,,,and many of our players love the game...I think those

are the reasons I still support the club.

I thought I was just a grumpy old git but it seems many younger fans seem the same ... The clubs and the rulers of football should take note...

without the fans there will be no sponsors no tv and the game will starve to death.

For me personally I have not fallen out of love with football but constantly reading about transfers and going on football sites i'm over. I used to read every single topic on this site and these days I don't. I think that's because the community has changed so much and some people just type garbage. I have not missed a live chelsea game in almost 7 seasons and I don't think I will anytime soon but who knows what will happen once more important things happen in your life (Kids, House, etc). I also watch a lot of premier league games also that don't involved Chelsea and I watch some Serie A when I have time.

I am totally disilluded with Brazilian football. Globo is a f* monopoly, popular clubs ruled by thievs, no proper calendar, empty stadiums, violent fans, horrible field condition, players with amateur attitudes because they think they are superstars, etc, etc, etc.

I am in total love for European Football. It is so professional and organised. It has a decent calendar, excellent crowd attendance, safer, good players, decent owners, etc.

It has its flaws, but you should be proud of what you guys have.

One day, if Brazil gets on the same level as Europe (football wise), it will be national holliday!

I sort of agree with you BadBoy, it's not about Chelsea. I still love this club retrospectively of any other feelings but for the game itself I've become distant. Though, this is mostly down to my busy life schedule to be able to watch as many games as I used to be able to. But I still attempt to catch all Chelsea highlights, and even download to full-games when possible. I can't imagine not following Chelsea's progress at all.

My love has grown if anything. i've been a supporter of chelsea all my life. but id only watch the games that were on TV IF I was available (but i would always keep up to date by checking scores online or on my phone) but never really cared for reserves/youth. last season i was really excited and got in to it. the last quarter of last season i was all over it. and over the summer i signed up to this forum and i've thoroughly enjoyed myself. its a great community here.

I moved to somerset when i was young and chelsea fans are sparse, so its hard to strike up a detailed conversation with any other fans. but here its decent! i love it, i study it, and i love reading peoples views and seeing what people see about my points.

over the summer i was well in to all the transfer gossip and the signings we made may have boosted my excitement because so far this season i have seen every single game in full either live or a replay online.

I'd like to add, im greatful to those who contribute with payments to this site. i will in the future, but as a 3rd year uni student i have below 0 money. but i am greatful for this site and i enjoy it.

id say over the last 3 or 4 years my passion for football in general has grown. I follow whats going on at other teams, not to great detail, but im up to date with injuries etc.

but to the thread starter, its obvious other things are going on (congrats) so its natural that you dont have time for hobbies and interests. dont worry bro, you'll find yourself in the near future, after not seeing a game for a while sitting in front of the TV on a sunday with some time on your hands and see a chelsea game is on and you will thoroughly enjoy it!

Its different for different people , but I suppose for almost everyone the interest waxes and wanes at least a bit..

For me for during the past few seasons, whenever I watched Chelsea one thing that was always on my mind was whether Drogba and co. would actually win a European cup during their playing career. Now that it has happened, I sometimes wonder whether anything can top it..

Sure I don't watch every game with a vengeance like I used to, but I still look forward to watching our matches this season.

The new style of our play, and emerging talent has only helped in this regard.

It's not the same as it was for sure. I really enjoyed the 90's and early 2000's where there wasn't bucket loads of money but since all the money has come in, it's gotten a bit out of hand. I still love football though like always but i can see where you're coming from. The cheating, the refereeing, the money, the plastic fans. It's a whole new ball game.

Even if we were still playing with Malouda, Anelka and Kalou as our front 3 with Essien, Mikel and Lampard behind them week in week out, i would still watch every single Chelsea match, it's like a drug.

At the start of this season i started to watch MOTD and the football league show in full again but gradually i got bored and Fifa 13 coming out has put pay to me watching anything other than Chelsea matches now

The problems in football are developing the exact same way as the problems in boxing. What happens off the field is constantly out in the open and there is more going on off the field as on it and that is sad. Boxing developed the same problem, the trash talking and endless promoting brought the sport to its knees because people just want to see the best fight each other they don't want to hear that Mayweather and Pacman can't agree to a fight because of promoters and all that malarky.
