Same exact profile as Moses except better in every aspect. I'd love to see those two compete for that position especially since Moses is injury prone. Why you want to fix something thats not broken? Not every player in team needs to be flashy. Hard work can replace talent, but talent can never replace hard work.

With two games a week wingback area will need heavy rotation. There is a reason Antonio rested both Alonso and Moses vs West Ham. Completely agree with rotation, but he was talking about replacing Moses, hinting he was not good enough. And with a player that gives Moses even more insult. Adama is nothing like Moses in defense. But obviously, we will definately need at two players on both sides for wingbacks. But if Moses and Alonso do very well till end of season, we should look for their backups, not replacements. One could be Kenedy, the other I have no idea. If a player is signed who is better than Moses then all the better likewise Alonso, add to quality and competition. We should sign wingbacks who potentially could take their place keep them on their toes not just for back up. Darmain at United could be an option, he's a average fullback but by all accounts a very good wingback, and Jose always been open to selling to rival. Perfect wingback would be Danny Rose but that aint happening. Unionjack and DYC.

You can't lack both physicality and pace as a wingback for me. Fabinho would be perfect. Sign him if possible and may the best man start. Him being able to play in centre midfield makes him even more perfect. But there other alternatives like Porto's Layun and Real's Danilo. Even Coleman would be a good option. If they stay inury free, IMO it wont be such problem this year since we play once a week (there comes fa cup but if we maintain on top till january, we should definately put league as priorit and play others in cup games). Both Alonso and Moses have good stamina and both spent few years in PL, so they know the pace and rhytm of league. Â But if we play two games a week, thats demanding for wingback and only a matter of time before they get too tired. Unionjack
Gilvorak 3,734
You guys are saying Adama has zero potential at RWB but without the benefit of hindsight would anyone on this forum would've claimed Moses would excel at that position 3/4 months ago? Â It's a relatively easy position to play, you just need to have incredible stamina which Traore has in abundance. Â Â Â Â Â
Sideshow Luiz 2,310
I think Willian could do a job at RWB. Â His decision making in the final 1/3 is suspect. Â His motor is not.

I THINK I might opt for Oscar ocer Willian as a RWB as hes as fit as a butchers dog and his best skill IMHO is high up pressing/ But if we are going to get WBs then we shoulf be buying upgrades, Nothing whatsoever against Alonso/Moses but id we are going into Europe I want to go un with the strongest side we can get. Let Alonso/Moses fight for their spot like Willian/Bats/JT/Oscar/Cescy etc etc are doing now.

I just think that we can use what we've got instead of dropping more money (that seems to be our current transfer strategy).  I'd rather see a huge player come in if we're going to spend (I'm still in the Griezmann dream land) and use players we've already got for cover. It's hard to find dedicated wing backs because not many teams play with them.  You have to find the right FBs or wingers where the scout/manager can see the inherent qualities needed for the position. To be honest, they can do just about anything and I'll give them a lot of rope.  I just wanted top 4 this season.  Even if we don't get it, the joy I have from watching this thoroughly likeable squad play every week is worth it.

One of the reasons we were in the shite last season was not strengthening after winning the league. And I'n with ya on the Griez but as we are short on good depth then we need to invest. And as we got some excess players we have a few quid to play with. Â

Aina should be able to play the occasional game IMO. Against West Ham you could see that he has the right mentality for the position not letting 1 or 2 mistakes affect him and just going on with his job. I reckon he would do well with the rest of the current starting-11 around him.
