true but azpillicueta has been chelsea 1st choice left back nowadays

Yes but he is also our 2nd choice right back. If Ivanovic got injured in a match Mourinho would send in Filipe.

Lichtsteiner is not bad at all but I don't think he want to sit on the bench all the time.

Best attacking RB in the world at least stats wise (12 goals and 14 assists in the past two seasons). Why in the world would he sit on the bench?

I can see why Jose would go for him to replace Ivanovic if he wants to continue with his current tactics of inverted right winger and the RB becoming the winger in attacks. But honestly, I would prefer someone younger, even if not as good as Stephan.

Arsenal have launched a bid to bring Juventus full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner to north London, according to reports in Italy.

Arsene Wenger is keen to move for the Swiss international in the January transfer window and could strike a deal to secure the 30-year-old's services for nothing, given Lichtsteiner's Juve contract is up in the summer.

According to Sky Sports Italia, the Gunners are in advanced talks with Lichtsteiner and his representatives to seal his switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Lichtsteiner, who can operate across the back four, has been in and out of the Juve side under manager Massimiliano Allegri this term but is known for his ability to get forward from right-back and create chances.

It is not out of the question that Lichtsteiner - linked with Chelsea earlier this year - could still pen a new deal with the Turin club, but Arsenal and Inter Milan are the frontrunners to sign the experienced defender either in January or in the summer when his contract expires.
