If anyone is wondering why Mata lost his no10 position, I think this video sums everything up.

The amount of times he wins the balls back is absolutely ridiculous. I've never seen an offensive player tackle as much as this lad does. Mourinho is always going to play the hard worker type of player than the naturally gifted.

Honestly, this lad brushes up his finesse in the final third (which he has shown flashes of) and he'll definitely be the most complete number 10 out there.

Kroos played #10 the entire season until he got injured around April. Muller was mostly used as a winger, the play never went through him.

Agree, even under Juup Bayern was actually a possession based team and Kroos is just the perfect player for that style whereas muller is more of a runner

nobody is dening that mata is the most creative mastermind chelsea had since zola...... all chelsea fans knows this .... but he is also prone to being dispossed easily(especially when a physical player starts following him around) and his tracking back was mediocre and defending bad....but nobody expected him to do any of that last season or the one before that....infact same problems can be said of hazard.... but have you seen the change in hazard !!!....i think mata was inproving too and he should have tried till the end of season (but to everyman his own opinion right..)

But oscar despite a few handful stupid decision making upfront in the final third has been absolute brilliant for us... maybe you didnt notice but he choked the liverpool midfield along with ramires and they started resorting to building from the sides.... and his passes are not that bad..its just he gets a little selfish ocassionaly when hes infront of goal...but that is down to maturity level..and my friend he is only 22 years old....

he maynot be a zola or mata but he could be something new and waybetter(remember makalele..a position was created by him!!).... and as for his passing...check out some of the games for brazil .....there are some quality ones..but i guess he likes those simple and smart ones more

only hazard will be played instead of him at that position and its only if hes injured or being rested....
