Tomo 21,751
We need to stop with these "starting Xl" lineups for next season.Their is no such thing as a first choice Xl any more, its a squad game these days, injury's and fatigue will mean any line up any of us draw out will probably be named 10 times a season if that. Its a squad game these days. blue_swaggin_96 96
im not a formation nerd or double pivot reject, but this mean mata bench or ramirez ? i can't see anyone replacing mata.... he was our best last season ....
Kezza 1,965
Why not?3-4-3 something like this! :D a) since when did Chelsea ever play with 3 defenders? (especially after needing 6 against Barca and Bayern)b ) IF you were to have a 3-4-3, why would you choose Luiz over Ash?c) Your just gonna thow Mata on the bench? Its like you took Barcas formation and chucked a few Chelsea players names on it.Whats the logic behind the formation? The Rising Sun 711
Yes of course, but I mean, you don't pay £25m (or so reported) for a player to sit on the bench.Lukaku is a prime example

So have fun continuing posting like this. And no, Mata is not better than Hazard. I don't know about Oscar since I haven't seen him play, but Hazard is most definitely a better player than Mata. It's unlikely Mata will play every game, so as I have said loads of times, it's about squad depth! Unfortunately City proved that last year with almost 2 full teams in their squad. Now if we can just add a RB we will be in great shape

We Hate Scouse 10,326
damn no lampard haha idk manVery hard to accommodate all players, so rotation will take a huge part this year. My logic behind leaving Lampard out is that he is ageing and will need to gradually be eased out of the team.
capriccioso 2,545
--------------CechIvanovic Terry Cahill Cole--------------MikelRamires Mata Oscar Hazard-------------Torres That's far too attacking. We would get run over so easily in midfield.Very hard to accommodate all players, so rotation will take a huge part this year. My logic behind leaving Lampard out is that he is ageing and will need to gradually be eased out of the team.I'm sick of everyone pretending like we're playing 80 games this year. We're playing at the most 10 games more than we did last year, and that's only if we get to the final of the CWC, League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League. More likely we'll end up playing only 1 or 2 games more than we did last season. We played 61 games last season. 13 CL, 38 PL, 7 FA Cup, and 3 League Cup matches. The most we can have this season is: Community Shield (1)Super Cup (1)CWC (2)CL (13)FA Cup (7)League Cup (6)PL (38)That comes up to 68, and realistically speaking we're not going to play much more than 60:12 CL (semi final exit)38 PL4 FA Cup (we can't win it every year, can we?)3 League Cup1 Community Shield1 Super Cup2 CWCThat comes out to 61. Identical to what we played last season. The only 'rotation' will be perhaps one start a month, at the very most, for fatigue. I can't see players like Lampard/Ramires/Marin/Oscar/whoever else being happy with that. This is why keeping guys that don't expect to play that often, is far better for squad depth than to pack your team with star players who demand 50 starts a season. Also I never suggested that a high number of games would influence the rotation. It's the fact that we need to ease some players out of our team. Lampard, Terry, Cole, don't get me wrong they all need to play a huge part this year, but we can't keep relying on them with no back up. We have back up for Terry and Cole now, but we need to think about easing Lampard out of the team mostly to make it easier for the future, when he does actually retire/leave. Off the back of the CL win they'll still believe it's in the best interests of the club for them to play as many games as possible.

They have been coddled and pampered far too much by the likes of Mourinho with all that "Untouchables" bullshit. There can't be a phasing out with this lot- its either sell them or play them.
