Beepu 1,714
Don't think I've ever been as disappointed in a chelsea player as I am with Oscar (bar Torres). He had so much hype and so much promise but nowadays he can barely keep the ball. Won't repeat what many have said about consistency or the lack of it. I still like the person but as a player not as much. Would keep as a squad player though as he is clearly talented but just not starting material. Would sell if a good offer came from a club that he actually wants to go to, not China. bethos1, chelseafan26, Essien19 and 1 other

He scored a hat trick a few weeks ago and was great against Arsenal. Â I understand the frustration but Costa missed two sitters yet Oscar's getting slagged off for one half chance lol. Would simply eat away time for young players like RLC or Musonda or Boga either playing on the wing or as a no.10. He exactly the kind of player that we should sell if we want young players to come through at the club. stroey
Special Juan 28,141
He's not worthy of a spot on the bench for me, he just simply is not good enough. stroey, chelseafan26 and bellion

He has been so quick to defend Oscar against PSG but he would not say any word on Willian for his performance. I don't think he has or ever will compliment Willian or accept that he was wrong about him. When Willian never used to be a stats wonder, he would be the first to go into his thread and criticize him, stating he is not good enough etc, Oscar was a better player etc but since he performs he just leaves it. He'll settle for a career here like Mikel and others before him. He's heavily featured, but isn't an absolutely titular. He won't push for more chances, he won't push for a transfer unless it's from a big team, in a big league - which ofc won't happen. He'll stay here for a decade... write my words. I've since long lost hope on him. I don't think he'll ever reach his potential, basically because he settles for mediocrity. the same reason he'll stay for as long as he has a contract. bethos1 and Peace.

I, for one, am not happy with mediocre players. While I do think Oscar can, and should, do much better than he is, he just lacks the consistency to become a good/great players. If he will stay like this (inconsistent) then I want him gone. I think Lampard joined us when he was 23 years old. Oscar is 24 years old, so he has time to turn the corner. Consistency is a major issue for him but take that out for a second, what exactly is he even good at? He's not great at anything but decent at everything. He's basically a jack of all trades! stroey and chelseafan26

What I think is more important than selling Oscar, is to get a nr. 10 better than him and demote him to the bench. Fernando

Pizy 18,928
Think the Mikel comparison is valid. Oscar will continue to do just enough to be kept around but I doubt he'll ever do anything that makes him a crucial, must be in the first XI player. Maybe if he has a great remainder of the season we can use him as some sort of bargaining piece for a better player. Possibly with Atleti if we can prize Simeone away. chelseafan26, bellion and Barbara

On his good days he offers goals, his shooting technique is quite good, imo. He has to work on a lot of things, not denying it, but he is under contract and clearly wants to stay here, we could do worse than having him on the bench. There are so many problems within the squad, i for one would leave Oscar alone, at least for now.
