That was awesome, blitzed them all! It's nice to see their reactions, 4 years of hard work and this is the result of it. Fantastic race. Our first ever gold medallists in womens rowing and it's at home. Great stuff.

That was a great effort by our 8's, really took it to the Germans but credit to Germany they have a great change of gear and showed it in the last 500.

well done boys that was epic to push the germans so hard if only it was a 1500m race..we`d have Gold. but Bronze is still very good. the current germans are incredibly good at the 8`s.

They are absolutely gutted, brought Steve Redgrave to tears, wow ... emotional times. I love seeing that, people that really care about competing for Great Britain. Makes you feel proud seeing the effort there. One of my brothers school friends was in that 8 too. Mo Sbihi.

They gave it their all for gold, absolutely everything. Just wasn't to be. At least they got a medal at the home olympics and at least they really gave it a go. The Germans are the best team and deserved to win it. Congrats to them.

what a disgrace. 8 sent home and rightly so...done it to get an "easier" match in the next round and handed an easier round now for the true olympians.now that is a great result.justice!
