Sturridge isn't shit, he just had a shit game. Lets see what else he can do with more game time, hopefully he'll improve and take Nando's place. But all i'm saying is his performance yesterday was like one Torres' bad game and yet people are saying he warrants starting over Torres. For me what Robbie needs to do is make use of both of them and ensure they can both get game time, from that we'll see who truly deserves to start

We're already past that stage, Torres had his opportunity to cement his position in the starting 11, now it's Sturridge's chance. There's no point playing him at RW now that we have Moses who is more capable playing that role.

Yeah and Torres has been inconsistent. Had a good start, but has faded recently. Personally don't think he deserves to be pushed aside because he hasn't been as bad as made out, just been ok. I reckon Robbie will be willing to give Sturridge a chance which is good. I'll reserve judgement and 'Sturridge>Torres' comments till after Sturridge has played some games

I know he scored last night, and he did take his goal well but my God that was ridiculously frustrating. The really dreadful thing is that Im not sure that Torres would have done any better. The case for signing a truly top class centre forward was only reinforced last night. With a great goal scorer this team would be genuinely lethal.

In two seasons, that is the second time he starts as our lone striker (last year it was against Blackburn, away from home). Each time, he didn't performed that good and was written off right away by fans. It is fascinating how people are dubbing him as not good enough, etc. after one game, while they took so much time to realise that some players weren't good enough or past it. He doesn't have match fitness, and he doesn't play in a position that suits him (and how many time did he play there during the last 24 months ?). For Christ sake, give him some time, as Di Matteo was given time after a bad start of the (pre)season, as many players were given time, as Torres has benefited of blind faith despite being one kind of a flop. He needs a fair run of games to be juged. Before this, give him some slack.

for me he will be better then torres if he gets lets say 3 other STarts, he hasn't played a single game from the beginning this season and I think he had 3 sub appearances? so what do you want from him. hes movement and passing was 10 times better then torres

Things like this, how was he pathetic? He was average. If he was pathetic the likes of Piazon and Romeu must have been two of the worst performances seen in a Chelsea shirt. He scored and set up two goalscoring chances, give him some credit.
