DH1988 1,348
Anyone else impressed with how well he linked up with people when he came on and as soon as he passed the ball SPRINTED into the box for any attempted cross etc.

Las7 951
Yeah I think he won't find it too hard to be on the same wavelength as our 3 maestros. I think his speed and incisive runs will be lethal with those 3 players behind him.The main thing is he can stop the ball with such guile - his first touch is fantastic. When you are a striker especially running into a one on one situation or a congested penalty box have the capability of gluing the ball to your foot can be the difference between getting dispossessed and having a shot. There was one time when an offside was called against Tottenham when he literally plucked it out of the air like Zlatan and Berbatov regularly do. Miguelito 459
it's embarrassing he isnt get more gametime, but i do think that he is going to start getting me. i see no problem with him not starting against shaktar seeing as he just came back from injury so i doubt he is completely match fit. but i think he should be coming on earlier during games.hes been a real catalyst the last couple of games and he deserves to showcase what hes got
Kinol 337
The amount of time he has gotten on the pitch is a disgrace! Say whatever you want about Torres but even if Torres would be banging in 3 goals everyday he still deserves to get some game time. Hell, even Danny Welbeck get more chances at Man U and imo Sturridge is way better than him AND he got Rooney, RVP and Chicharito competing for his number 9 spot.... disgrace, f*ckin disgrace
Bir_CFC 3,455
It's just too bad he'd been injured early in the season, otherwise he would have definitely got a couple of starts at CF so far and RDM would have been more comfortable giving him a start against United. I still hope he does because he can take any of the United back four 1 on 1.

World class touch and finish, didn't get enough credit for it IMO, very tidy goal (and a great pass from Cole).
Elite 3
Quick question and certainly not a dig at anybody but the people who want Torres dropped and Sturridge brought in to the sideIf we weren't top of league in January who's fault would it be? Would RDM then be slated? I'm sorry but you can't just drop anybody from this side at the moment, I agree with what people are saying and I agree he needs more time on the pitch and that time will come. This however is not the time

Don't be fooled by the smooth image he shows on tv ,,,RDM is onereally tough guy and a smart one

And don't think his choices have anything to do with balls.."He plays who he wants, he plays who he wants, RDM, he plays who he wants" or something like that. He's conservative as a coach but it's not because he's too scared or anything. ,Sturridge will definitely start the second ManU game and I think if he has a good one (or if he plays well as a sub in the first game) he'll earn more of RDM's trust and start to get starts in the league.. zolayes

We are currently top of the league, so at this moment in time why are people being so critical of team selection. Sturridge would have got run outs in the last few weeks and at least started against Wolves, possible the Danish team (that I can't spell!) aswell if he wasn't injured.Sturridge will get games, as will the likes of Moses, Marin and Azpilicueta, but it is much harder for a player to break into a winning team. People need to be patient - Robbie knows what he is doing! zolayes
BlueJewel 56
I'd start Sturridge against United, he's fresher and hungrier than Fernando. Torres has looked poorer since his return from Spain, he's no longer chasing balls or hurrying defenders. He needs rest but I doubt Di Mateo would take that risk but he should at least take Torres off a lot earlier if he is flopping. GIBBO3000 20
ok if rdm is gonna start torres so be it. However take him off around the 65th minute and give danny a deseved chance, at the cf position. Then start him at Cf for the cup game and that should give us a good assessment of his mind and playing ability
YouNameIt 1,511
There is only ONE arguement to start torres ahead of danny, and that is experience. and in all honesty that doesnt mean ANYTHING at the moment.Whats even more funny is seeing people saying stuff like "torres is moving better", "he looks better", "i think he will score this game" and "he works hard, defensively too".Well, who cares if he does that if he doesnt score? Would u rather have a guy that tracks back or a guy that scores so he doesnt have to track back? Las7

RamiCFC9 258
Sturridge actually reminds me of Torres when he came from Spain.Young, fast and hungry, he just needs someone to believe in him and give him the chance.
