Kezza 1,965
Scotch Whiskey and Whiskey are fine, Bourbon Whiskey isn't.Too true. I prefer Irish, Jamieson or something. Bit smoother than Scotch.

capriccioso 2,545
It's quite annoying/sad that we don't have any proper rivalries in football here, aside from Marconi Stallions vs. Sydney Olympic and Marconi Stallions vs. APIA Leichhardt. And none of them can get into the A-League. We really need a promotion-relegation system. The bottom placed team at the end of the season should be relegated down to their relevant states' league, and they should be replaced by the winner of a playoff- contested between each of the winners of the state leagues. I can guarantee that if APIA or Marconi can get into the A-League they'd instantly be more popular than Sydney FC. It's a far better way of spreading the game than introducing expansion clubs. It'll also prevent the amount of 'Eurosnobs' (people who couldn't care less about the A-League and support some European team) - which I am unashamedly part of. If my local clubs, Moorebank or Marconi get into the A-League that would change.

Everytime a team is relegated the support would just about die.
capriccioso 2,545
Our supporters are too fickle for such a thing.Yeah but how many people under the age of 10 would follow the A-League with greater interest than they would European leagues? The NSL was better, as we didn't have one or two clubs per city. The problem with people our age and older is that we have no connection to the A-League. These clubs were founded by and large after we were old enough to pick teams to support of our own, excluding Melbourne and Perth Glory. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
For a promotion/relegation system to work well we'd have to have 2 leagues and we sure as hell don't have enough football fans in Oz yet to have another league. The NSWPL is surely good enough to warrant its best teams joining the A-League. Perhaps the Victorian PL as well, though I doubt Queensland, Northern Territory or Western Australia have much to offer in that respect. It would be far better to bump up one of the big 3 NSW clubs than create a new western Sydney expansion club.

Most ten year olds would not even know who Real Madrid are.The NSL was fucking awful. The worst thing about Australian sport is that clubs are founded by faceless corporations. I sick of people pulling things out of their arse like that. It's been happening to me a lot lately.
