Really, I think we (Sri Lanka) have already become rubbish. Take out Herath and none of our test bowlers would make it into even the Australian reserve squad.

About all thats keeping us competitive at this time are those three batsmen. That and visitors don't know how to stop Mahela smacking 200 every time he feels like it in Galle/Colombo/Kandy.

The state of world cricket at this moment is this:

England: Very good team, but not deserving of number 1 ranking in the three formats (impossible for a few months anyway).

South Africa: The best team in the world, and will be for the next 3-5 years as long as they can avoid their traditional wobbles against top teams.

Australia: Inconsistent but improving, slowly. 5 years away from again becoming the best team in the world.

India: Shit, and when Sachin calls it quits, they're going to plunge into a long period in the darkness.

Sri Lanka: Sadly, we're going to become very shit, very soon. There are no replacements lined up for Dilshan, Sangakkara and Jayawardene, and despite the best efforts of Herath we've never really replaced Muralitharan.

New Zealand: Lol.

West Indies: They're getting better but won't cause anyone too many troubles.

Bangladesh: Fast improving, still not quite cut out to mix it with the big boys.

Pakistan: When Ajmal leaves, then what?

Zimbabwe: It's over for the short-to-medium term, but their team from the late 90s to early 2000s was wonderful, very competitive and even though they lacked skills they punched above their weight a lot.

Others:

Afghanistan: Lol

Bermuda: Where has that fat bloke got to? Wasn't he called Leverkusen or something?

Canada: Lol

Kenya: ICC fucked them over, could have been a pretty decent outfit by now.

Ireland: Lol.

Scotland: Lol.

USA: Lol.

I think Pakistan are very good. Underrated. Perhaps the 2nd or 3rd best in the world. England are grossly overrated. Mainly by England fanboys and the infamous British Media. Australia never play too well in England. Any other place and we do pretty well (Most notably drawing the series 1-1 with South Africa). I think Australia is more like 2-3 years from contending for the title of Number 1. Unless we somehow rapidly transform before next years Ashes. India will still be good...at home. Any other country and they'll struggle. Sri Lanka will still remain competitive. I think your also overestimating South Africa. Yes they're the best team in the world but they are the biggest Chokers in the long history of Cricket. Even with the all the amazing talent they always have they never can seem to put it together and click and go on to dominate everyone. I think they'll remain in and around number 1 spot for about 2 more years. The rest I pretty much agree with.

South Africa on paper should destroy everyone, the trouble is they're all fragile Boers longing for the good old days of Hansie Cronje. England are the real deal, its quite an achievement to beat Australia in Australia. Cook is one of the best openers in the world, Anderson is just behind Steyn as the 2nd best quick in the world and Swann is the best non-sub continental spinner. Number 6 in the order is a trouble spot for them, Prior think's he's Adam Gilchrist (which he's not, more of a Romesh Kaluwitharana than a Gilchrist), and playing against sub continental teams in the sub continent is a massive problem for them.

Sri Lanka and India are headed for the doldrums compared to how good they have been for the last 10-15 years. Pakistan are always likely to blow up, though they have possibly the best captain in the world in Misbah (Clarke, Sammy and Jayawardene run him close).

As for Australia, the batting quality is woeful apart from the Hussey Bro's. and Michael Clarke. David Warner is a walking wicket. Ed Cowan is someone I'm excited about but he's not a matchwinner, more like the strong type who can provide resistance. Clarke is 30 and with his back problems has 5-6 year left at best, and the Hussey Bro's are approaching their use-by date. Australia do possess the best young pace battery in the world (Cummins, Pattinson and Starc) but they get injured every time they get out of bed. And Australian spinners are hilariously incompetent, to the point that Michael Clarke is still the best spinner in the country.

Yes, I'd agree about our batting, which is why it will take a few years to transition into a younger and talented side. Cowan is good and solid. I think Warner is a great talent. Reckless but very exciting and a match winnner. Watson has always been consistent. Super useful for any team with his bowling and batting. The only downside is that he doesn't go on enough and convert 50's into 100's. We have Usman Khawaja (Spelling?) who is very talented. Forrest is decent. We could always try Shaun Marsh again (not in the ashes though, too risky). One thing the Aussies have is a vast amount of domestic talent. We still struggle hugely with finding a spinner though.

where can I join?

Well, first of all you need a stupidly long surname. 12 letters is the minimum level of acceptance :P

I think you're in for a disappointment, though. My grandfather's parents were the last in the farming business. As for my grandfather himself, he worked as a labourer on railways, his children have all become middle class professionals. No more goats :(.

I spent some time there when I was about 2-3 years old and that was the last I saw of the goats.

Goats need to have surnames? That's awesome
