Eden Hazard

I expect next year to be his big break-through and huge improvement.

It's his first year in a real club.

When you look at Mata, he came from Spain, played in a good club with Valencia and had the habit to play in a organised team.

I didn't like the way Lille played and didn't rate that much Garcia (you only have to look at his european record against team well organised and that can play with the ball to see that he's not a really good coach).

I think he would have improved much more with Puel in his all-around game.

You should rate Garcia very high!!!

They had some bad luck in the CL last year. They were by far the best team from their group (better than CSKA, Fenerbahce (I think?) & Inter!

Only thing that Puel did was giving Eden his debut, but that's something every coach would've done considering he was the brightest talent of his age together with Bojan Krkic. He was his coach for only a few months...

Garcia made Hazard play smarter & made him believe more in qualities, made him progress step by step, made him more efficient etc. He deserves a lot of credit for Eden's development imo. They were calling le LOSC 'le Barca du Nord'

Thats something that takes a hand of a trainer dont you think? He build the team round Eden in the last 2 years. You cant blame him for doin that...

edit; what Greyco said!

What marvelous style. Being trashed at Valencia, Liverpool when they couldn't even make 3 passes.

Their 50-100 passes between their central defenders and the goalkeeper.

Balmont Debuchy running into blind alley on the right side.

Scoring very few goals in the first half. Mavuba who plays often more like a third central defender and is very bad to pass the ball forward.

Very few play in the central midfield, no link-up play between their three midfielders.

Well, They've beaten the poor and average sides but due to individual performances of their attacking players. When they scored thei first goal and the opponents had to give more space there was good play but before that it often was a stalemate.

Mancini has won trophies but I don't rate him as a great coach.

It's natural Mavuba almost plays between the central defenders, it's to compensate the very agressive and offensive backs they have in Debuchy and Digne.

And I remember the games against Valencia and Liverpool quite different. Besides those were in the 09/10 season in a Europa League Lille showed not much interest in, as they did the following year. They were chasing CL-football with a small squad of core-players.

Under Garcia Lille improved year after year and earned the trophies to go with their exciting style. The side with Cabaye-Gervinho-Sow-Hazard-Rami played brilliant stuff and scored lot's of goals in a league with a low scoring average. They gained widespread accolades for their enthralling football.

And here you are praising Puel who is one of the dullest coaches around.

I'm not sure if you watched any games of le LOSC? very few play in central midfield? no link up?

Scoreboard journalism is something I really hate...

I'm not goin further in this discussion as you seriously don't know what your talkin about...

edit; Liverpool got trashed in Lille!!! In Liverpool it was the other way around. Know your facts!

I've seen nearly all their matches the last three years.

If you can say that Mavuba Balmont Cabaye were passing the ball between them, it's you that don't know what you're talking about.

Cabaye was even criticised on their forum while he was the only midfielder that tried to play a pass and move game. Mavuba was often hiding, Balmont running too much with the ball. And the wing backs playing like wingers, I never liked it.

If you want to see a good use of wingbacks and the interplay with the midfield, look at Ac Milan under Ancelotti when they won the champion's league. Seeing wingbacks rushing forward without much build-up is not that elaborate.

The matches against Inter, it was awful. Three four players in front glued to their defenders with no movements, Hazard alone behind them with no one to link-up. Inter was very happy to let the wing backs have a bit of space as they were not very gifted technically and are happy to let them cross to the box where their defenders were much taller than the Lille players.

Kagawa has been injured but there is no doutbing kagawa's talent.Brilliant player he is and will have more of an impact as he settles in the manu team.

He's a good player. Not 'brilliant'. Where on Earth did you get that? Mata is Brilliant. Kagawa is overrated and before his injury Hazard utterly outshone him. He's probably not even better than Oscar and if he is Oscar has far more potential.

Come on a good player does not win the bundesliga player of the year a good player does not start ahead of gotze,he is obviously a brilliant player but is finding it hard to adopt to the physical nature of the bpl.Give him time he will be a very important player of manu.Btw currently he is more polished then oscar but oscar has far more potential then kagawa.

He got hurt but people are acting as if he sucked before that. He played 8 games and had 2 goals and 3 assists. Hardly a horrible start considering that he's been moved all over the pitch. (Rooney is playing in his natural spot). He's an excellent player but how good we will see. Hazard got off to a ridiculously awesome start but slowed down once Mata came back, then had a bad stretch when we were struggling but has picked it up again recently. Overall, to me, he and Mata have been our two best players this season. Oscar is not at that level yet. He's struggled mightily in the Premier League but he works hard and has very good instincts and skills so I have high hopes for him.

mm ok; I've read over that word :D

But it's easy to pick out 2 matches where they had an off-day?

Besides Liverpool & Valencia are (sub)top in the 2 best leagues. That's hard to take on for a team from the 5th competition. Lille did an amazing job by becoming champion (& winning the Cup). They didnt succeed in that in 50+ years...

Garcia is a part of the team that made Lille a topteam again!

but if you didnt like their playin style, thats personal taste off course & we cant argue about that. There are people that think Barca is playin dull football

Never compare Belgium with the Netherlands, we Belgians are proud to be Belgian :P

( i'm joking, but unless you're Belgian or Dutch you'll not understand our ' rivalry' )

Lol, I think Spike meant something else. Smoke it much, Eden?

Smoke weed everyday.

We should probably talk about Hazard, otherwise the mods will come with the usual ' stay on topic ' talk.

I have to admit it though: I started, sorry moderators :)

On topic: I can feel Hazard is gonna have a really good game tonight, he's playing better since a few weeks.

1. Kagawa wasn't the Bundesliga player of the year. Reus was.

2. Gotze was injured for an extended period last season. He also wasn't a direct competition to Kagawa

3. Sahin - a former Bundesliga player of the year - can't even start for shitty Liverpool team.

4. If there's any truth to Lewandowski to United rumour, I can't see Kagawa getting enough game time.

I think he's a very good player, but no where near world class. Brilliant? perhaps, but it's all semantics.

Staying on topic, Hazard>>>>Kagawa
