Eden Hazard

I thought he played well today. He was dangerous a couple of times, a shot was saved and a lob over the keeper unfortunatly went over the goal as well. Him and Moses, together with Cahill and possibly Mata were our best men on the pitch. Those two didn't deserve to be substituted.

Not sure why he was brought off for Oscar TBH. If anything, Mata probably should have gone off. Was poor in that second half.

Both subs were very poor. Hazard was very much involved in our attacks, if anything Torres or Mata should have been subbed off.

There's something in the way Eden is conducting himself on and off the pitch that tells me he knows that everything is going be ok in the end at Chelsea for him and our current Chelsea squad, apart from Torres. I really hold a lot of respect for Eden, he seems a genuinely nice geeza and ultimately a top professional.

Watching old YT videos of him when he played for Lille. So strange how big a difference there is between then and how he's playing now. He used to just dribble defenders for fun. Make complete fools out of them. Now it's like he's afraid to take defenders on.

Maybe it has to do with low confidence or just adapting to the pace of the PL or something. I don't know but i'm not worried. He's got far too much talent to fail. Eventually he'll start to dribble defenders again like he did at Lille.

He'll find his ritme again. When he does we'll be in for one hell of a show.

I swear couple of years from now people are gonna go "32 million for Hazard ? Bargain."

Lets hope thats the case. With all the depression at Chelsea right now I can't see him dribbling for fun again.

It's not easy to dribble past player in epl, the game is just more physical.

I have no problem with hazard, I think everybody knows he will become very good

I think it must have something to do with the directions he's been given by the manager(s). In Belgium's national squad, Marc Wilmots (manager) has instructed him to play sober and simple, and not try to force it. Perhaps this is because there is a lot of pressure on him, being a top signing and a top earner at the club. When he takes on too much, and occasionally fails, this might cause a sh*t storm of reactions from all sorts of haters that love to see a promising prospect fail.

I would suspect that RDM equally protected Eden by taking away some of the pressure, insisting that it is not up to him to always make the action. In sum, I don't think that he plays bad; only he does not add to the team what he undoubtedly can, that extra spark of creativity. If you see that Kevin Mirallas in Everton succeeds in making these kind of offensive dribbles, then surely Eden (who has a lot more potential) must be able to really crack the opposition too.

Mata seems to be the man who takes responsibility and attempts to force the openings now. Which is astonishing, being only his second season at the club. Let us hope that Eden is backed by a manager who encourages him to progressively put more risk into his game, to the point that he is his sparkling and stylish self again.

He is just like young messi at 2004-2006, obvious talent and dribling but afraid to take charge. I hope he matures like messi did and tries to use his dribling talent to win games in the soon.

Well, it was Guardiola who helped Messi to do that, so let's hope he comes here in the summer!

Rudi Garcia (his coach @ Lille) told Eden a thousand times that he had to shoot more @ goal & to be more selfish at times.

I think he needs a trainer that talks with him & gives him confidence (might be a language problem here I guess)

Do you perhaps think he has a little bit of a Belgian mentality much? lol.

I agree. trainers should pump him a little. He seems a lot more cocky than he really is.

'He has to adapt to the tempo of the Premier League. It's not the same as France where he was the main man. 'Here in the Premier League you have to be at your best all the time or you will not be able to make the difference in matches. He's doing well, but he could do better.'

-Rafa

The bolded part confuses me. So Hazard himself can do better, but for Torres, everyone around him has to do better?

As much as I'm all for the Torres-bashing (the twat deserves it), he shouldn't be used as the bookmark.

If a player is playing poorly, "but not as bad at Torres, so it's fine!", is that acceptable? No, it isn't.

No player in our entire squad, Petr Cech excepted, can claim to have played even close to "well" over the last five weeks.

I think this is directed at me, so I'm going to explain. Rafa continues to defend Torres, so I'm using Rafa's defending of Torres as a benchmark, comparing it to Rafa telling Hazard to improve. Pathetic.
