Yeah, I can't understand what goes in the heads of these players...ethics thrown completely out the window, no respect for fellow professionals. Its even more annoying when refs fail to give straight yellows for fouls like these (targeting specific players)

For the first foul from Adam Clayton, he was also having his shirt held back by that DeRoon.

6 - Eden Hazard created six goalscoring chances today, his most in a PL match since May 2015 ( 8 vs Sunderland). Generous .

We did have the opportunities to win by 3 or more goals and on a different day we woulda, We know (and most other clubs) that Esen doesnt take physical challenges well. Poor lads spent more times getting up off the floor than a UFC fighter. But the work hes put in in the Gym has helped him this season. He looks chubnkier. What we need mostly and have done since we bought him is a ballance to him on the right.

When teams start double playing him or kicking him out of the game we need someone else to step up and we dont have that.

True. That's why I think next season we should go all out for dybala or Griezmann. A goalscoring left-footer who is hardworking and makes runs in behind the defence. That way it will be suicide to double mark hazard and rough him up because of the equal threat on the other side.

On the other hand, I think Hazard was a little tired yesterday and he wasn't as selfish as he was in the last few games. He didn't shoot as much or wasn't as direct as before but I'm sure it's the international break that caused it. He needs to keep up that ruthlessness, desire to score and fear factor of being dangerous so that he'll be as unpredictable as possible.

I just love how disappointed Hazard looks every time something goes wrong, we lose a ball, miss a great chance or similar. He seems so motivated these days. Not like I missed a great chance and I don't care. Hazard cares now. Conte got these players going. Great to see that :)

I read on the BBC that this was a "quiet" performance from Hazard. If this is a quiet performance, then it proves the point of him being the best player in the Premier League. How many of the other top players can play this well, create so many chances and it's labelled a quiet performance? Shows the insanely high standards that comes with being the best in the league.

That tackle at 0:38 by that thuggish Middlesborough player is a very dangerous one. Possibly pre-meditated to "knock Hazard out of his stride early on". A weaker player than Hazard could seriously have been injured. These are the sort of tackles that need to be punished with bookings all the time. Many times it's not even and sometimes, it's not even a foul, like Coleman on Costa in the last game. It's why the very top players like Eden won't want to spend their entire careers playing in the Premier League. It's a career risk.

He never didn't, he was physically and mentally drained last season until Guus eased him in from the bench for six weeks to help him recover.

Nobodys said owt but where was he yesterday?

Its like hes got an on/off switch.

This is another great reason we need to ballance the right side.

I thought he played pretty decent. Winning a lot of free kicks.., again taking a lot of abuse from the opposition defense. Should have done better with his shot at Lloris, but was a constant threat, like his involvement for Moses goal.

Tottenham were guarding him closely, but he didn't have to do too much in this match, with Diego pulling the strings up front.

But dont you think the sigb of a great player is to be his best in the big games when it matters?

I love the lad but hes got to dg in when its not all going his way. Thats the last 2 games. We made excuses for him last week. Early knock, International break,tired etc.

I know hes not a machine and gonna have a off game.

Think you need to take into account the way the game went. We were struggling to get him on the ball.(especially in the first half)

Didn't think it was his fault really. He wasn't hiding, he wasn't being  passive, he was making runs and dropping off but we just weren't able to get the ball to him because of the pressure Spurs were putting on us.

Even so i did feel like the rare moments where we did get the ball to him we were at our most dangerous in the first half.

Second half we did better, we were more composed at the back and making better decisions along with Spurs being unable to keep up the pressing.

We had a good period of about 25-30 minutes (where the goal also came from). I felt he played his role in that period, interchanging and keeping the ball moving around.

Also i do agree with "Blue armour" that he seemed to be more closely marked then any other player. I mean the space Pedro got for the goal i don't think Hazard ever got a quarter of the space Pedro had there.

Excellent post. Of course Hazard was quiet for most of the first half yesterday - we struggled to make 3 consecutive passes before hoofing the ball or losing it. When the game settled down he played a much larger role.

Did anyone not see the amount space Pedro got for his goal because Hazard attracted like 4 players attention wide on the right? Teams know if we stop him from receiving the ball & limit his space that we suddenly become ordinary. It's on Matic & Kante to get him on the ball as much as possible.

It took like 15 minutes for him to finally get a touch and people are slagging him off lol.

I think him getting marked in games like that is sometimes good for guys like Pedro, Moses and Costa because it sometimes frees space up for them in central areas (well if they could keep control of the ball at times lol). It's also a compliment to how good Eden is that he needs to have so many people are him to make sure he can't have a huge effect and there will be other games like that but I think if other teams wants to focus on him and let guys like Pedro get that sort of space like he got for his goal it could end up costing them, like the equaliser. Sure we all want Hazard free and to be able to get in scoring positions and create chances but im sure other teams will also stifle us like Spurs did first half.

Can't believe he's being slagged for his performance though, Messi would have struggled for a while if he was in our team and we were playing like that first half. Surprised we weren't 3-0 down

Old 'Arry always trotts this one out doesn't he. Another Willian. They paid for his flight, had a 3 hour meet and he signs with us,

Nobody was happier when we stopped them winning the league last year than Eden.

Arry lives in a world of his own wometimes.

Knowing how Harry is, he was probably closer to signing Eddie Izzard instead.

First 3 games: 14 shots (2 goals);

Next 4 games: 5 shots (0 goals);

Next 4 games: 15 shots (5 goals);

Last 2 games: 2 shots (0 goals)

Inconsistent in shooting. We've still been dangerous in attack because of the fantastic consistency of Costa and Moses but we can never reach our attacking potential without hazard shooting more, being hungry for goals.

Has a lot to do with the profile of the games.

Didn't have much of the ball against Tottenham and the spaces against Boro were really hard to find, so on the backk of a hard international break for him it's easy to understand why.

Still, you can see he got that reflex now, the first move he did with his first good ball on Saturday was to drift inside and shoot.
