Hulk

Bumping this post..

I think a lot of people are missing the point behind our real interest in Hulk , it's not just that he is one of the best RWs all over the world , in fact with this squad i would choose Hulk over Di Maria , Sanchez , Robben and many other superb RWs because we already have some very good technical players and great talents (Hazard - Mata - Marin - Sturridge) , between them and Torres they can offer a variety of Technical abilities , Great passing , Pace and lots of creativity but they are all small built players that lacks the physical strengths that sometimes decides games that power and strength that CFC is known of .

Hulk is the only RW that will contribute a lot to team and add another dimension to our game , he will add Strength , Power , Directness , Long shots and more goals to this team , we don't wanna have too many similar players who are great technically but might end up choking and finding no outlets against the likes of stoke due to inability to match their physicalty .

The greatest team in recent history Barcelone has suffered from not having plan B , their lacking of another dimension , of a less technical player but more powerful and effecient player has huanted them and i don't wanna have that next year.

BLionheart really hit the nail on the head with this one.

We have some problems to solve. I guess Oscar (and yet we havent sign him) was third thing we needed; creative CM.

We still need someone who can start imediatey with option to become better. Hulk.

And we will also need RB since there is only Ivan and Ferreira...unless Hutch will play regular sub.

after the olympics games his fee will raise for 25% at least.

At price of 40mio, I doubt anyone would pay 50. Unless he will be REALY fantastic. Leader of brasil, goalscorer, free-kick scorer etc. And usualy price goes up on euros or WCs, not olympics. For football, olympics are like europa league comparin to World cup.

We must to try and seal the deal before the olympics...

The Olympics can really bring a young player out into the spotlight if they were unknown before (even that is rare), but someone like Hulk? Even if he dominates, it won't make a difference. Brazil is playing Egypt, Belarus, and New Zealand in the opening round. Doing well against the under-23s of these countries is to be expected for a pretty stacked Brazilian side.

Completely agree with you, Hulks price just wont be any higher except he will totaly explode there. But on other side, with only decent Hulk performance, Porto will have another excuse for their high price for him.

I have feeling if we wont finalise deal with Oscar in this week, deal will fall apart...If its serious we will do it soon, if its just some bs rumour, we wont. It is pointless to wait for weeks to completr this deal. And once we complete the deal, I agree we should snap Hulk as soon as possible. But during olympics will be still soon enough. Before first PL match, we should complete our signings for this summer.

Chelsea's expertise is to sign players in the last day ....

We are playing hardball with Porto...it's the same as it was with David Luiz and Benfica...negotiations have broken down, and once they've seen we are a tough knot they agreed to lower the evaluation. We will either walk away or Porto will lower the price...considering Hulk really wants to leave and that there we are only interested from the big clubs I would expect them to do it...

If the deal fails, I'm pretty sure there are other potential replacements...but Hulk would be a really great signing and I'm really hoping we can snap him up.

Also, don't forget that there is a 3rd party involved which complicates and slows down the deal also...

Chelsea is doing exactly the right thing. We seem to be the only interested party and Hulk will also agree terms. Porto wants more money right now, but the fact is that even the 30M Chelsea are supposedly offering its the most they'll EVER get for Hulk. No one is giving them more than that, and since they are a selling club, I'm pretty confident they'll agree eventually.

They will hold out as long as possible though, just cause they can and to allow Chelsea to feel the pressure and possibly increase the transfer sum, but at the end of the day if Chelsea has made an offer, they will accept. Hulk is 25, if they want to make money off him, this is the time otherwise it's as good as asking him to retire for Porto, cause no way they make as much money off him as they can this summer.

However, considering we've been going after Moses and Oscar, total of probably 30M which we offered for Hulk might seem like we've given up on Hulk altogether, cause I don't see us spending THAT much this year. Moses & Oscar + Hulk, that's too much money imo. I think Chelsea had two options 30M Hulk or 30M for Oscar + Moses and they chose the latter.

It sounds impossible, but we were after

Hulk and Modric. I think if Porto will be ready

to sell Hulk, we will buy him, no matter we (will) sign Oscar. Sure Moses then falls of, but Oscar and Hulk wouldnt be that impossible. Hazard, Hulk, Oscar and Marin. It would be best transfer summer ever.

Why does the Guardian continues reporting we agree the deal with Hulk?

Cause in the Oscar article they said at the bottom:

A £38m fee has been agreed in principle between the clubs but there are complications related to Hulk's third party ownership, and over who will pay the monies owing to his investors.
