Or he could just sit on his floating palace 12 miles out at sea and fly them in on a chopper! Where theres a will theres a way! Just wish he would fuckin hurry up about it cause irs doing my nut in. the wes 7,212
Roman Abramovich remains committed to Chelsea even with the news the club owner has put its stadium redevelopment plans on hold, Sky Sports News understands. One club source has told us that it’s still “business as usual” at the West London club and that the Russian billionaire’s commitment to the club is “unwavering”. Abramovich was due to invest up to £1bn in the rebuilding project, which received planning permission last year. It was expected that Chelsea would play at an alternative venue, probably Wembley, until the start of the 2020-2021 season when the new stadium would be ready. OneMoSalah 8,886
I think if Roman is putting a halt on stadium renovations or whatever it could mean he is willing to plough more money into the squad on players. Or at least that's what I hope, if we had to prioritise something this next few years, its got to be investment in the squad, players like Luiz, Cahill, Fabregas, Willian, Pedro, Giroud are all towards 30 or over or are not far off it and considering at least 4 of them started a lot of games for us this season (Cahill, Fabregas, Willian Giroud), it is a more urgent matter to look for upgrades/long term solutions for them as opposed to a new stadium imo. Throw in the mediocre players like Moses, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Zappacosta and a lot of the loan players that will never get a chance/arent good enough, that is a lot of poor level players for a Chelsea squad and we should be looking to cut ties with them. Lets hope that is what he is thinking anyway. Fernando, zekinjo and 11Drogba

zekinjo 449
In such mess I highly doubt anyone knows what’s going to happen this summer. What in the world happened with this club, who is running this clown show and when will it stop?
oldportblue 547
Skysports confirms that he is as dedicated to Chelsea as ever so I think the talks of him selling are just fear mongering as things stand.... He loves Chelsea and I actually think this may be good news for us in the short term, more cash for players and hopefully paying that Sarri clause lol

Well according to some MSM he's been told by Putin to halt the new ground as payback for Russian sanctions by the US/UK. He's definitely close to Putin, has been for 25 years. His decision to halt development plans at Chelsea fit a pattern and chime with Moscow’s bitterness over what it calls ‘insinuations’ from the British authorities around the Skripal case.and sanctions

Considering also Oligarchs' futures uncertainty Roman does not need Putin to tell him to halt the stadium development.
