ChelseaFanMKD 41
The point is that yeah, he scores goals, but he misses many sitters and other must-goal chances.Example:
termninja 5,290
He's not happy to be a benchwarmer? Kalou is an example of a typical benchwarmer, who will perform poor if he starts but will manage to score a lucky goal if he comes in the second half. It's not too hard to score as many goals as Kalou has when you have world-class players around you. I don't think he'd start for any top 10 team. And we're not cursing him, we're just criticizing his poor performances and skills by being based on facts. Sometimes he even fails to receive a ball properly, what the fuck? It happened against United at Old Trafford in such a crucial moment. Seriously when have you seen a Manchester United, Barcelona, or Real Madrid striker fail to receive a ball like Kalou does. And the way he flies so many chances wayyyy over the goal and in such short distances (example Blackpool away), oh my God.I hope he leaves Chelsea Football Club asap.I'm simply saying that there are chances of him leaving since he can't break into the first team and that I respect him for his hard work. A club needs a player like Kalou who warms the bench and scores a few goals..hell, he contributed this season more in EPL then Anelka... The pitch was bad so he missed just a bit

GodZola 630
The lad has talent but unfortunately for everyone concerned with our club he doesn't produce on a consistent basis & this is more evident when he starts a games. Whenever he plays the attack will break down because either he loses possession, mis-controls the pass, shoots high & wide or fails miserably with an attempted cross - these examples can also be extended to Malouda so its a little unfair just to point the finger at Kalou.Put it this way if I was in AVB's position I would be asking myself are Kalou & Malouda good enough to make my squad? For me it would be a resounding no & I would sell them both to put that money to good use & buy one winger that is consistent, that has pace & has a good work ethic about him. Just think what Torres & Drogba could do with some quality service from the flanks.
zolayes 14,489
There is always a player the fans like as a scapegoat for when things go wrong . When Kalou isnt playing its usually Anelka to blame or Mikel. When Kalou and Anelka leave ,,,who will be the new player to hate?

LDN Blue 7,903
hell, he contributed this season more in EPL then Anelka...Anelka's finishing has nothing on Kalou. Give him the ball one-on-one with the keeper.. Out of 100 shots he'll bury 95. The only reason we're not fans of Anelka is because he drifts off to deep. I'd rather have him "warm the bench" than Kalou, because at least Anelka got the experience and skill to hold the ball, run with the ball & even look more likely to score. Not hating on Kalou, just calling it like it is.
Gianfranco_Z 202
I love Kalou!YES he can frustate the hell out of me during games but I love his commitment to the team. The stats shown in the original post are great for a squad player. I'm saying for him to start every game but it would be pointless to get rid of him. Squad depth is something we lacked last year and it cost us, would you agree? Let's not make the same mistake twice. That's why we love Salomon Kalou! Nico is a deadly finisher, but he needs to realize that the opponent's goal is on the opposite side of the pitch...

Nico is a deadly finisher, but he needs to realize that the opponent's goal is on the opposite side of the pitch...But that's my point too. Even if we find Anelka dropping in deep at least he's not losing the ball where he is. Hell when we played that return game vs Sunderland, when Carlo put Anelka behind 2 strikers we all praised his contribution and even found him as man of the match. (for the record: I'd still sell Anelka)

When Kalou isnt playing its usually Anelka to blame or Mikel. When Kalou and Anelka leave ,,,who will be the new player to hate? That is possibly true but I have never rated either player (Kalou, Maouda) However if they would improve their consistency to playing well for most of the season & that consistency continues then i'd get of their backs. However both players have had enough time to improve.......time to get rid.
Fulham Broadway 17,313
Top player -never doubted him. A stream of managers tends to back this assertion.Yes he is frustrating, have given him dogs abuse at the Bridge myself, I admit it. Should never start a game, brilliant sub. End of , as they say.
