capriccioso 2,545
Actually, if he can replicate his track record with no-hope clubs like Fulham, he could do well with a relatively no-hope country. Give him a big national job where the country is expected to do more than avoid embarrassment and he'll fuck it up.On another note, why don't the FA appoint Jonathan Foreigner again? Over in Australia we've also got a dearth in terms of good domestic managers, probably even worse than England and we've been able to punch above our weight by appointing European managers. Madmax 9,219
Considering Hodgson's experience in national team management and his record at mediocre teams like Fulham and West Brom (no disrespect ..) and the fact that a glance at the England squad reveals them to be no more than a bunch of mediocre players plus Rooney, it's a good choice. manpe 10,861
The question is will the players respect him enough?
Madmax 9,219
It's probably for the best as far as Harry's concerned, it's not like he would been able to make head or tail of the appointment letter anyway, what with his illiteracy et al. Kez 2,727
Roy Hodson for England manager? Weally?!I don't believe he is good enough. Harry must of said he's staying put because he seemed to be the only choice for the job.

capriccioso 2,545
Maybe the FA passed on Harry because of what they'd have to pay him and Spurs for compensation.

BleedsBlue 1,549
They are going for their Plan B.Harry was obviously top on the list but the 10m asked by Spurs has forced the FA to reconsider.Have nothing against Roy so I hope he does well. CHOULO19 24,332
I think 'Arry made the smart choice; he knew that he is probably not going to do too well with the national team, so he decides to stick to what he has done well with and leaves everyone wondering what might have been if he had taken the job. Ollie 4,400
Ok... time to do some research on WBAs formation and how he does things.... I wonder who he'll pick, be epic if he left Gerrard and Rooney at home. Might get Foster to get his arse here as Harts back up. Should be interesting anyway, kinda excited now in a sick way.
