Not sure if anyone had read the rumours/stories but according to German source Bild, Bayern are interested in hiring Guardiola to replace Jupp Heynckes at the end of next season.

I actually see Guardiola prefering the Bayern job to the Chelsea one too. He's also been heavily linked with the Shakhtar job a week or two back. Even if we do want him it's certainly not a given that he'll want to come here. Certainly considering that the Arsenal and Man Utd jobs are likely to become available within the next couple of seasons when Fergie retires and Arsenal still haven't won anything!

I hope Robbie can prove to be OUR answer to Guardiola, and I'm quietly confident he can be a big success here in the long haul.

A bit weird about getting Desailly as a coach without him having obtained coaching badges.

I'm almost sure he has his badges as Swansea also attempted to sign him. Personally, I would love his Desailly, Zola and Leboeuf all came back. Though I doubt Loboeuf wants to leave his cushy mansion in Los Angeles and somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I recall Leboeuf saying that his next door neighbour was David Beckham!

As we found with AVB, studying text books and gaining coaching badges does not IMO beat experience whether thats playing or coaching. Robbie played with desailly and obviously then could see how good he was at marshalling the back line and his wealth of experience. Terry has always stated what a massive influence he had on his own game. Put simple when you've got it, you've got it!

Goal says he doesn't have them yet.

And Superblue_1986, that I can agree to. However even Di Matteo has earned his stripes with coaching badges. Just because Desailly was a fantastic defender and leader, doesn't mean he'd be the same as a coach, it's a complete different environment. I trust Robbie's judgement though.

Any word on Newton's job?

Can't find anything. Either his contract has not been renewed yet or it has but the media sources did think it was news-worthy.

I forgot where I read but apparently Di Matteo's keen to keep him on. I assume he'd get his own coaching staff? Urgh, typical Chelsea of not sharing such news

Yeah, you'd think there would, at least, be something about it on the official website, but nothing.

Can't see why RDM wouldn't want to keep Eddie at the club. He brought him in last season and played his part in helping the team achieved the success we had. Pretty sure the club would let RDM decide his backroom staff, that is unless they want to cause problems for themselves.

You know what, we'll actually have to wait till our first pre-season game and play "spot Eddie on the bench"

RDM + Eddie can offer something some Mercenary pairing can't.

Love for the club, it seeps out of the paws of the pair of them on the touchline.

Also in the highlights of previous conquests like the '97 FA Cup

These two lets the new breed how they easy they got it now. Like having training @ Cobham as opposed to Harlington.

Yes, I urge him to do so as well.
