No doubts RDM is a legend.

I love him for rescuing our season by winning the FA Cup and CL.

I think this is the point where I think the club should part with him and leave a pleasant ending in making the history of this club.

RDM no doubt should be hail as the guy to leading us to our trophies, but I personally don't think he is the man who can provide good football for the club. I dont want to see the club playing such football all the times aganist better oppositions like Barcelona/Madrid/Manchester United/Arsenal or even worst still Spurs. I had enough of nail biting moments after last night... god damn. lol

If this is all it was meant to be then we couldn't of asked for anymore. RDM has finally brought back the trophy everyone craved. If he leaves now then we will always have this success under him...

look at the passion on his face when he was giving his extra time team talk...

He'll be a very wanted man if we don't give him the job.

There's just no way now that letting him go won't be the most heartless thing in football. I'm still not sure about whether he will or should stay but I can say with certainty now that he deserves to.

Gullit's comments are running through my mind with this situation. He suggested Roman would be at a catch22 in regards to having to give Robbie the job, whereas if we lost it'd have been easier for him to sack him.

I think the only reason why Chelsea are thinking twice about RDM is because they want a change in team performance. We all have to admit that we were getting battered throughout the game but one can't blame RDM for that.I am sure he'll improve the style also when given the chance of new signings. He'll have more control and will be confident to know that he is the first team manager, there's no doubt that the results under him have been fantastic but a change in style is really needed.

If the board expects that the arrival of a new manager will help improve the style then they are just fools.RDM has been here for many years as a player and has spent 1 managerial year at Chelsea(an experience very few managers get to have)He knows the players, their strengths and weaknesses and more importantly has premiership experience. His tactical decisions are just remarkable and I am sure he'll improve our style of play next season.

He may not be as witty as Jose or have the experience of a Capello but this man won us the Champions League,a title many world class managers have failed to win with us.Some may call it luck but I feel its destiny.

So,I beg of you Roman, please don't sack him.

We have to remember guys - What RDM has done for us as a player and as a legend has been brilliant. I don't want us to ruin that.

Look at Dalglish at Liverpool.

A total legend, but now much less of a legend after damaging Liverpool.

We have no idea how RDM would deal with transfers and new egos at the club who have no idea of our history and that RDM is a legend. He already doesn't seem like a great motivator to Lampard and Drogba etc, as he's their FRIEND first and foremost before being their boss.

He seems like a great, determined, passionate tactician - but not a manager yet... just like AVB.

He DESERVES to manage us, but I think it would be the wrong move long-term.

He's also a fan of defensive football, which Roman no longer wants.

It would be extremely hard parting with RDM, especially after what he's just helped us achieve.

Love the guy.

Don't know much but i think he wasn't shit at West Brom (i think)...

Guardiola wasn't the wrong move long term I say Di Matteo's our guy... If we don't retain him he WILL move to another top club.

Then we'll just be miserable.

Gave an interview on the pitch at Allianz after the game to German TV station in German.

not many other Prem managers could do that blue%20scalf.gif

According to Martin Tyler, RDM was born in a German-speaking part of Switzerland...seems to have a bit of everything in him, DiMatteo...

di matteo actually attacking minded, is true or not ?

This guy is risky however, remember Kenny Dalglish last season?, he looked really good and looked like he could get Liverpool into a top 4 place. As soon as he's introduced to the market boom... all that happened.

Matteo's transfers for West Brom wern't good, he got about 3 decent players, Odemwingie including, but a lot of the ones he signed West Brom are letting go of them now because they're not good enough for the team. Also does he have a new way of playing football.

But i will say one thing, i will be definitely dissapointed if he doesn't get the job, because he deserves it, he did the impossible, he won the CL and the F.A Cup, fuck me Glen Hoddle was right, i remember after we beat Napoli and came back from the 4-1. He Di Matteo could go on to win the CL and the F.A Cup, and Jamie Redknapp and Graeme Souness said he's getting ahead of himself there.

But i'm just reminding you guys don't be 100 percent confident that Di Matteo will be our Mourinho, he still hasn't been tested fully as a manager. Obviously he wont be as bad as Dalglish but i'm just using a quick example off the top of my head.

warren barton summed it up best on foxsoccer "all di mateo did was stand out of the senior players way and shoulder the responsibilty on them" wixh imo was right. he also stated how di matteo dured up back by selecting kalou over studge and liting fire underneath them. while also pointing to my point which is he was close to these senior players, wat happens with new signings?

i tell ya, i dont want matteo as head manager, leave on high and unstained career as chelsea player/manager and nope lets not call him "legend" he iss iconic figure in club's history

What RDM was make the best use of his resources. We weren't going to outplay Barca and Bayern and so had to rely on defence and hope for a goal. As for games like Arsenal where we defensive, we had Barca 3 days later and made 8 changes as well as had to stay in the race for top 4 so a loss wasn't an option. He can make us really good football, the Napoli, QPR and Potatoes matches show that. The difference between RDM and Daglish is that RDM is a modern football manager whereas Daglish was living in the past. Lets be honest its our board that makes the signings and as has been shown recently they make brilliant signings. Daglish failed because he brought in absolute crap like Henderson and Adam whereas we're looking at Hazard, Hulk etc. Give rdm the job he deserves it

So let me get this straight... All Di Matteo did was asses the situation, and handle it appropriately. Isn't that what a manager is supposed to do?

As a European Championship winning manager he will command respect. The world has seen how Chelsea won it in a spectacular fashion. Almost the entire squad want him to be the manager next season rather than start from scratch AGAIN under a new manager.

He has won the dressing room like Mourinho, Hiddink did. And He did more than just stand out of the way of seniors. He made the tactice, made the team selections to counter the opposition team. He gave the team talks. He won it for us.
