At Chelsea he would have gotten some sub appearances and the odd match, but at his age he needs to play week in week out which he is doing at Werder.

TBh I would have preferred KDB to Marin. Marin has been struggling to even get on the bench since he was fit for the Wolves game, and with so many forward players he seems surplus - we haven't missed him at all.

I know that. But we already have players like Sturridge and Moses who provide what Marin provide. Again he didn't even make the bench and again we didn't miss him at all. KDB could add more depth in CM - which we do need espiecally with Oscar playing as CAM - as well as being able to cover the front three in an emergency.

For a club like us that is challenging for trophies every season, you need to have squad depth. And moreover, De Bruyne can play in CM, not just out wide or as a CAM and he's pretty good in the CM position. Don't see the problems with it at all having all these players. It just means we have loads of options we could use next time.

You also have to look at the fact that Mata,Oscar and Hazard almost never get injured.

Just because they aren't injured now, doesn't mean they won't get injured here and there occasionally in the future(touch wood).

Good to hear he is playing regularly - I think next season he would be key squad player in central midfield and the wings as Lampard will be mostly fazed out by than. This is why it's always good to have players like KdB who can play in several positions without feeling out of place.
