Kevin de Bruyne

"okay" season? he was the best player in the league last season with other 20 assists.

Yeah whatever, because he was the best player there doesn't mean he'll be anything extraordinary here. People and especially football fans are overrating him massively, he's worth 80million just because his name is De Bruyne and City are after him. He's too mainstream now. I wouldn't even be excited if we got him honestly.

All the bitter people wishing him bad luck at City lol, blame Mourinho for forcing every attacker to track back. He didn't want out of the club for some unreasonable reason, it just wasn't meant to be no need to get bitter.

Are you seriously suggesting its unreasonable to ask a player to work off the ball?

Nah, but it's unreasonable to demand attacking players press like their lives depend on it and then carry defenders who are unable and/or unwilling to press high up and support those same attackers.

Fair enough, I was more thinking to the standard defensive work, I mean Azpi gets a lot of stick for not being brilliant going forward despite being as good as there is for pure defending yet if the wingers are questioned about their tracking back people scoff and are like why should they need to their attackers.

Sometime if they are good enough yeah. Messi and Neymar do hardly any tracking back at all. While KDB might not be that good yet binning him off after a few games purely because he refused to follow your defensive instruction completely is unacceptable.

Never been impressed by him, not too worried. He's had one okay Bundesliga season and now he's suddenly like one of the best AMs ever ermahgerd.

To be fair, he had excellent season with Wolfsburg and very good one previously with Werder.

I agree he would never succeed under Mou, but he still will be cracking player and if he does brilliantly for city, it will leave sour taste.

really hope they get him as De Bruyne will only make City more predictable and easier to play against.

City dropping Navas for De Bruyne could be what wins us the league...

That might be hybris....

I think this will come bite us in the ass in the long run (i expect him to struggle a bit at first considering his psychological profile - but when he gets confident. Ahum, he will be dangerous and City all the more).

Chelsea should end with this FFP bullshit and start act properly. It is a complete joke. City's never been on profit since the Arabs took over, yet they're able to spend big w/o caring about anything. Wasn't FFP about being on profit on the course of 3 years, otherwise you're out of Champions League??

This summer they're on minus £135m yet again (£160m in arrivals, KDB included, £35m in departures). Would not mind Jose going on the ultimate rant in the next press conference and raise some questions to the footballing world and show what a complete mockery this FFP is. This shit has to stop at some point - you either let all the clubs spend big, or you start knocking out of Champions League those who can't even be £1 on profit on the course of one fucking transfer window.

Can't wait for the later of Champions League when City get thumped by Barcelona or Bayern. European minnows always and forever. These frauds can invest billions, they'll never get a sniff at that trophy.

If we had a proactive defence that would ease the work-load on the attacking players as they'd have less ground to cover. At present they are running more or less the entire length of the field constantly to track back and then go forward. Azpi is the only defender in the starting 11 that would be great in a proactive defence.

The reason we look so disjointed is because our team doesn't function as a unit.

I won't argue with that, as much as I prefer Azpi at LB I'm gettingfed up with Ivan I'll happily go Azpi-Baba and put Zouma or Stones next to Terry, that's three proactive defenders and JTs expierence and leadership should hopefully lead to more all round displays in that regard.
