To be honest - I actually don't rate him all that much... Yeah he has potential, but he seemed nervous and awkward...

Whereas, Hazard + Marin literally hit the ground running... I guess for me that's the sign of an 'established' player vs 'potential' player - an established guy gets on with the job, whilst the 'potential' needs time to settle...

Calm down. He's like 19. Hazard and Marin are years older and are coming from significantly better leagues. And it was his first ever match in a friendly FFS!

He's 21 bro. But overall his movement was impressive and he tracks back for defense. Will be a good candidate for CM.

I bet you all any money this guy will be a class player, you can tell he is. Ronaldo has had lots of games like that, so does Hulk, when they just overhit everything, like he overhit passes and shots but you can tell he has the mentality to pick out that pass, that amazing blistering power on his shots. You can't always look at this side on some players.

Some players are just not good enough or bad, but sometimes you can tell they are good like that. He will impress, i am confident in De Bruyne.

On the contrary, he has shown he has good technique and he likes to pick his passes. Secondly he has shown that he's not a winger but a CM and that is where he should be played. :yes:

That's quite normal, isn't it? Marin is much more experienced playing at this level. Has been a regular at a Bundesliga-club for some years now and is a German international.

De Bruyne is coming from a small league and doesn't have that much experience. You can see he is playing rather safe at moment, with his main focus being not to lose the ball much. Give him time to adapt to the level of Chelsea.

Kevin was everywhere in the first half; he showed great stamina and excellent work ethic imo. He covered and helped Paulo out every single time. His defending is excellent for a midfielder though he obviously prefers to play more centrally. His link up with Hazard was a joy to watch. He was, imo, our best attacker in the first half. I think the boy has a very bright future.

I'd be happy to buy back Hazard, KDB, Lulu and Courtois for a few quid, if you really need to get rid of them. The other Belgians "we dubbed" talented did do quite good in EPL, no? (dembele, Fellaini, Kompany, Vermaelen,...) They were older and more experienced though. There aren't many 21 year olds and younger who can take such a big step that quickly. Well except Hazard, but he had a smaller step to take. :)

Seriously though, Lukaku isn't ready for this, you're right. I think he's got the potential though, but he still has a lot of the basic stuff to learn. Anderlecht really failed him in the youth Academy ( thank god Genk does a better job :)) where they learned him nothing and just let him use his strenght to boss other youth players around. I remember his former coach, now coach of Copenhagen, he still needed to teach him the very basics. Now playing almost no games and having even less training due to the amount of games Chelsea plays, it only hurts his progress more. I think he should go on loan, but the team should be picked carefully. If they can't help him progress again, he might never really get there.

KDB is also not completely on schedule as he just lacks high level experience. He didn't do too bad in CL though, but he did play it safe in those games. Give him playing time and so and he might make some impact already at the end of the season. If not give him a year at right table team in England or a high profile German team and I'm quite sure he comes trough.

In other words you're right. Only Hazard seems like a real contender if not guaranteed part of the new starting eleven. But have some faith in youngsters until they have had enough time, experience and chances to impress. :)
